I just bought Dave Richardson's old 76 Convert. It doesn't appear to have been run in a long time. And I'm totally new to 'verts, never rode one - actually, I've never been interested in them though a lot of guys seem to really love them. The bike has (I was told) LeMans heads/pistons, 41mm Dells, F09s all around, 17" front wheel, and 38mm Marzocchis up front.
The main jet holder was sheared off, but the pieces along with float bowl came with the bike. I was able to remove the sheared off section from the carb easily enough and make that right.
Now I'm trying to figure out these forks. They're all in pieces and I don't know how they're supposed to go together. Any help would be greatly appreciated. A parts diagram would be great, or a link to instructions.
One other question - there's an electrical connection on the underside front of the fuel tank. Nothing is plugged in there, but I'm curious what that's all about? I've never seen an electrical connection on a tank before.
