2025 V85 accessory plug
« on: July 21, 2025, 08:05:34 AM »
I still haven't found an accessory hot wire to power my radar detector under the seat or near the battery as in past years. The book doesn't say anything about it having one. Is there?

I wasn’t able to find one other than a USB type A under the dash. My dealer added a two Pin SAE plug under the seat for battery charging but no outlets from Guzzi. I added a Powerlet jack to the handlebar clamps for my GPS. Biggest PITA was removing the tank to run the wires to the fusebox. I used the one for the heated seat since my TT doesn’t have one.
I can have my ‘76 LeMans tank off in about 30 seconds. More like an hour for the V85 tank while you learn all the stuff that has to come off first.

There's a connector for one plus what looks like a mounting slot, right of center line under the rider.

I got the "official" MG usb port from AF1 for my '23 Travel (like Vagrants).  I haven't used it yet but utilized that ciruit to power my hbar mounted gps.  As I recall, it plugs into the bikes (switched) wiring...I think instructions for installation were included.  Also, when I tapped off it for the gps, I ran the gps ground back to the seat latch mounting screw because I have found a few of the rivnuts "loose"  in the frame so I wasn't confident their use in the ground circuit may not be relatively trouble free.  Yeah, it ain't much fun removing the underseat tray when the rivnuts rotate with the tray screws.

I've hooked up a 20, 23, and 22 to the hidden plug.
The 2025 does not have one that I have found! Has anybody with a 25 found it?

The schematic shows 2 USB sockets (5) (where provided) Next to the instrument panel (10), perhaps Luigi was told to save money when he put your bike together?

Not sure about the 2025 BUT I found a plug under the plastic panel marked USB.  It was tucked down under the panel.  It was not a USB . It was a capped water proof 12V plug.   I picked up an adapter.

I also installed a SAE plug on the dash rather than hang a dongle off the battery.

You can order an OEM plug and play USB kit that fits under the seat, P/N 2S001450. AF1 has them for about $43.00. I'm thinking about adding one to my '25 V85TT just for kicks.

if you add the two pin battery tender connector to the battery you can get a USB adapter that plugs into that.

Sometimes my communication skills suck!
I need to reword this.
I need to find the 12-volt accessory lead that was by the battery, usually buried, on all earlier models. It doesn't seem to exist in the 2025 model year. I just want keyed power to run the radar detector.

This is the connector I used. Pretty sure its for the heated seat, not used on our bikes.

Then got the mating connector from Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08579V5ZJ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

The fuse is lettered “N”

It is switched on with the key. Just checked it with my GPS.

Yes, that is for the heated seat, but as noted can easily be re-applied.
