Fuel system pressurization tool?
« on: August 08, 2025, 06:44:02 AM »
Is there a tool or setup out there (thinking a HF item maybe?) that will pressurize a fuel system? I have a current thread here where my Norge is leaking fuel while the system is pressurized but if I pull the tank to inspect the source, I have no way of re-pressurizing the system to re-create the condition.

Not sure how to diagnose my problem otherwise, all connections appear tight and can't visually see the source from underneath.

I checked the regulator on my V11 with a bicycle floor pump and a gauge. Suppose air pressure on the line and a bottle of soapy water could lead to the source of your problem.

Set up a table next to bike & set tank on it. Add extra line if need be. You could add air w/a rubber nozzle blower & line full of fuel.

I thought of something like this for remote-tank mounting, but I'd have to make jumpers for the elec connections to the fuel pump. Definitely do-able.

Does the Norge have the regulator in tank or external?
I'm trying to visualize which external lines are pressurized to 40+ psi by the pump. Lines to the injectors for sure.

Everything has been internal since the last of the
Tonti Calis went to internal fuel pumps.

So tht only external lines that need to be pressurized are the ones that run to the injectors off some form of T. You on theory could pressurize then using a hand pump and a fitting that attaches to the fuel pump quick connect fitting.

Guzzi Diag has that capability. I use it to test systems, and to pump the tank empty if needed. You can carefully remove the tank leaving connected (be careful) or disconnect fuel line reposition and reconnect to diagnose.

??? Wouldn't I just leave everything in place to run Guzzidiag? I thought there was an OBD port somewheres under the seat. Guess I shoulda bought the cable long ago like I planned to.
