Did he do old bikes?  Iirc I sold some Italian motorcycle parts pre-internet back in the 90’s, including a Capriolo minus tank, to a man named Jim Lovell near Denver CO area(?).   From what I remember, he had quite a collection of lightweight Italian bikes.

Never considered he might be Jim Lovell the astronaut.  Probably a different man because I thought he had passed years ago via info from the old Parilla or Benelli yahoo group and his collection subsequently liquidated.

Jim Lovell was a midwesterner who was considered a Wisconsinite. One of our best, I think. His book Lost Moon is entertaining, and was the basis for the Tom Hanks movie, Apollo 13.

Launched into space on four occasions: two Gemini-Titan, two Apollo missions on the Saturn V.  On Gemini 7 in 1965 he and Frank Borman spent an astounding 14 days stuffed into a two-man capsule roughly the size of the front seats of a Volkswagen Beetle! It was the longest crewed space flight in U.S. history until the Skylab mission.  After their recovery, they joked to Mission Control about getting married after having spent so long together in space!  What a legacy.
