Unadilla 2025
« on: August 18, 2025, 11:35:13 AM »
One year after I crashed my Norge after the race, I made it back to Unadilla, traveling on 70% 2-lane roads thru the awesome-est scenery of the Catskills:

As soon as I parked a guy came rushing up to me, said he was just checking out all the bikes coming in and saw me, said I was the ONLY Guzzi among all these bikes:

Here's Jett Lawrence over the skyshot jump, this is where almost every rider peels off a tear-off because of the hang time. This was the 1st lap of moto 1:

Great photo and it looks like it was a fine day. The only time I rode by the track, not on race day, I ran into a frog strangler and could barely see the road. Beautiful country though.

Yes, beautiful country, and that pic I posted just does not do it justice (I am the WORST pic-taker god ever created). There were numerous vistas on the top of high grades that opened up into miles of farmland with cows grazing on the distant hills. Just gorgeous.

Gotta put a plug in for the campground I stayed at:

The owner, Shelley, took ownership last year and made numerous improvements. It was down some gravel roads 5 mi from the Unadilla race site (wasn't prepared for that on my Norge but you get used to the slippin' 'n slidin'), and she put in a commercial-grade kitchen for an AWESOME menu, right there at the campsite, no need to even head into town...How often do you find that at a campsite?
