New twist on fuel line removal

Taking the fuel line off the gas tank is easy.  Just push in on the line and pull back on the connector.   Except when the dang thing is 15 years old and stuck.   I have this rarely used tool in my tool box, it was designed to pull wires off of spark plugs back in the day.  It works great when trying to pull the connector sleeve back.

That tool looks like what I use to pull rubber hose off of fittings. I have a set with 3 sizes. Works better than just some type of pliers. Doesn't crush the hose.

Are they a Harbor Freight item?  Woulda been a good thing to have when I was disconnecting tank lines on my v11 Lemans.  I wonder if the v85 has the same fitting setup, ain't messed with that yet

THAT'S what those pliers are for?! I've had a pair or 2 cluttering up the garage for years and never knew what they were for. Probably got them in a set of multi-use needle-nose but I never knew what their intended application was. Thanks!

I just did the outers, valves, oil/trans/final fluids and brake pads all around


I've been putting off the inner plugs, air filter, and (not blocked, but 'guilty by association') clutch fluid swap because of this little bugger of a connector!  Off to Harbor Freight, if this works we may need to get you a new mega-flair title for this site! GOSLING?!? I say an immediate bump to MENTOR is is order

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with a recalcitrant fuel connector.  BTW, I had this tool out and visible because I was planning to use it to pull the spark plug caps off the inner plugs.   As with the Silver Norge, the right side was welded to the spark plug and had to be destructively dismembered.
