Rear oil seal crankshaft
« on: November 10, 2025, 07:54:20 AM »
I'm throwing a new seal at my NorgeGT whilst I am peplacing the clutch.

It is a 53 68 10/8

This is all I've found.

Oil seal W53-68-10/8 BA, 53x68x10 mm | Tuli-shop.com https://share.google/wZ3kgry0LFHRvSL5L

Are there other alternatives

Thanks

Thanks, the Gutsibits one is a straight 10, same as my V1000G5,  which is a generic seal. Stein is a 10/8 . May have to pay the extra € to have the correct one.

there is nothing sacred about these seals, all are std sizes you can find in hydraulic/bearing shops.

The one thing id insist is on a Viton seal rather than "eco" NBR

I kind of like the idea of the Viton with the unidirectional ribbing that helps direct oil flow back into the case (ribbed for ......).
Such a pain to get at these that I always look for the absolute best. I'll easily get 50K+ miles out of a clutch. Usually the splines start binding. Never wore the friction material off one. So I want the rear main seal to outlast the clutch.

So it seems  the 53 68 10/8  is the recommended replacement.

Given that most other models use a 53 68 10 oil seal it could be an upgrade for those models.

Gutsibits list the 53 68 10 as suitable for all models inc Norge  and Stelvio.
