Since I am fully retired now, and have no more disposable income for motorcycles, I just enjoy looking at them and taking photos of them.  Vintage British bikes and Italian bikes always appeal to me. :thumb: :boozing:

I have kind of thought about following the auction in case a desired model is going cheap. Then to register to bid is $200 and then a buyers premium let alone a really long day or more to pick one up if I were lucky enough to win one. Naw, ain't gonna happen. I am not going to spend that kind of money on something that is going to have to be gone through completely which would be probably the case with a cheap bike. Besides I am currently neck deep with an 850T.

Yes....and as an alternative to MECUM, or any other auctions, one can strut right on over to fleaBay...and take a gamble on something like THIS!!

Took a quick look thru the catalog...there's a Honda 650 Turbo and a BMW Boxer Cup Replica I might have to maybe possibly make a bid on!

UPDATE:  In doing some research, looks like the Boxer Cup could be problematic with the height, which apparently is more like an adventure bike than a sports bike or sports tourer.  Lots of reviews say it's just a tarted up R1100S, it's buzzy, vibrates a lot, disappointing power output, etc.  I've always been a fan of the Honda CX650 Turbo, but don't want to end up with something that's a money pit either, that spends more time in the shop than on the road!

The plot thickens...apparent ly that CX650 Turbo didn't meet the seller's reserve on BAT back in Oct at $10800.  And now it's listed with Mecum at no reserve?!  Smart people will keep the bidding low!
