aux lights for a Norge
« on: December 21, 2025, 05:09:22 PM »
Like the title states….looking for suggestions from those who’ve mounted them. A) mounting solution and B) wiring ideas. My wireless charging hub is connected to the connector for the factory GPS. Looking for a similar solution. TIA…

I've had Moto Lights on my Norge for a long time, they mount to the front brake calipers...you can order them with LED or standard halogen lights.  I put a different switch on them that is illuminated at night and mounted to the left hand side.

But to be fair, there are tons of lights driving lights on Ebay that come already with the switch built into the wiring as well, make sure you get a fused (inline) setup.

Any chance you’d be willing to post a pic of how yours are mounted to the caliper? I’m presuming through the caliper mounting bolt with post style mount system/clamp on the light unit?

And yeah…tons of options for lights…for my intentions, more for being seen than a need to see more than with the OEM head lights. Been exceedingly foggy here so far this year.

Sure...will get some close up pics in the morning.  They are quite a bit pricier than the standard driving lights you can find these days (they were nowhere near this expensive a decade or so ago), but they have been impeccable for many many years.  A few years ago I switched out the halogen inserts to LED's...quite a bit brighter!

Denali lights mounted to the crash bars on my Breva 1100. I also removed the stock headlight and used a generic shell and led light. Replacing the stock headlight made a huge difference!

From a previous post several years back:

Step by step of the conversion can be found here using the same components as the original poster:

Headlight bucket I ($55) used came from here:

And here is the headlight ($39)

My 2023 Alfa Romeo has standard-equipment fog lamps. Imagine my surprise when I found they were two, small bright white lamps pointing backwards at the rear of the car. If you are routinely riding a motorcycle in a foggy area you stand a good chance of being hit from the rear. You may consider putting some lamps on the back. Good conversation piece, too!

Less of a chance than you might think. A car on either side of me would have to get hit first as I’m not normally stopped all by myself….and because I am allowed to split to the front at a stop, I do.

My entire upper torso is covered by a reflective vest. Not like one you see on construction workers…but a Night Eye one from Richa (I think). The entire thing is 3M reflective.

@PJPR01 thanks for the pics…that’s exactly what I’m looking for.

I have the same fork mounted lights on my Norge as well. They came on the bike, and are a nice farkle. As stated earlier, I have them wired so the switched GPS power lead triggers the Relay. I like them always on with the key. WHen bulbs die out I will try to replace with LED.

I have these small LEDs on the Stornello and 1200 Sport. They are tiny LED's with miniscule amp draw. They are just wired directly into the GPS power lead. No switches, no relays, no mess. Hard to believe it is 8 years on the Stornello and 5 years on the 1200 Sport....... I have a box full of parts, and instead of sourcing the proper plug to plug into the GPS power plug, I usually snip and replace.

On the 1200 Sport, I mounted them with a Nylon spacer and proper threaded bolt to replace one of the fender mounts. Used loctite to keep the bolt snug. Total cost was less than $30 and my time. They get the Job Done. A piece of debris grabbed one of the wires and tore it out of the light so I replaced them with smaller units that look much better.

When it comes to rear lighting I always add extra brake and tail lights as well. This small round LED light has excellent visibility and has Brake/Park/Turn built in. I usually just use the Park and Brake. On the Norge, I installed an extra LED light bar to the edge of the rear case rack. I've likely had it for years and came across in my electrical parts box. Is an AUX brake light.
