Seems something gets lost in translation.
Using U Tube or anything else for instruction/demonstration for completing a task(s) is not the same as an "expert opinion" from, well, you know.

For examples on how professional reviewers present read anything by Alan Cathcart.

If we listened to the idiots out there with all their keyboard experience, none of us would probably be riding a Moto Guzzi or more than one. I test rode an Ambassador in 1970 but bought an R75/5 instead but that Guzzi stuck in my mind for many years. I have owned four and now trying to resurrect a T3.

.. bought an R75/5 xxxx instead but that Guzzi stuck in my mind for many years.
I guess that's the bad and the good, with regards to MG; don't appeal enough on the first experience but gnaw away at so many of us, until our wallets finally give in.

"...with regards to MG; don't appeal enough on the first experience but gnaw away at so many of us..."

FWIW, I had the opposite experience re Moto Guzzi.  In many MANY years of riding - mostly sport bikes or sporty-type bikes I had never ridden or even sat on a Moto Guzzi.  I viewed them as old, slow, ponderous machines of no interest to me.

I bought my blue '21 V7 Special last year simply because I figured that I should own a MG once...just because.  I thought that since I bought it used (with 6800 miles from the THIRD (!) owner), I could sell it with little loss if I decided I didn't like it...which I assumed would be the case.  I bought a new Harley some years ago for the same reason - figured I should own one once.  I sold it 6 months later ...for more than I paid for it! :)

BUT...the opposite has happened with this V7 - it's by far the lowest HP bike I've owned since I was in my 20's yet I seem to have more fun riding it than any bike I've owned in years and it struck me that way immediately.  I really like it and am thinking of trading in my Texas BMW R1200RS on a '26 V7!  My one hesitation is that I'm not wild about the current colors of either the Sport or Special.

If you decide to get a late model V7 make sure you get a '26 as there have been some big upgrades for that year. Although I think the Sport got them a year earlier. I was pleasantly surprised how much of a change from my previous 2019 Special. When I test rode the Ambassador I felt it was a bit too big and clunky as I was somewhat young and wanted something a bit more sporty. I was getting off an R50/2 which I now owned in Colo which was way too under powered for the altitude and the high passes. The MG was kind of like that bike as far as handling went. I was already a BMW fan at the time so the R75 fit the bill.

I am quite pleased to hear how well you have bonded with the V7 Special.   Regarding the new colors, I suggest seeing the Verde Legnano V7 Sport in person.  I think you might like it!  That color also has a rich Guzzi heritage behind it.

So many silly broad brush comments about hating on YouTube content providers. How sad.

I find YouTube content providers to be much like Internet forum members. In that it’s quite easy to tell who’s full of themselves, who’s full of crap and who actually knows what they’re talking about.

I only frequent the latter category.

I stumbled across this fun and informative site called "butt crack cycles".  He's limited to old Harley content, (I don't own one) but very entertaining and informative.  E.G., a pretty thorough demonstration of diagnosing, checking and adjusting the pushrods on an old Shovelhead.  He seems very open and honest and not trying to sell you anything.  It's like anything, there is good and bad and most is in between.

I don't really follow any 'youtuber' shows or channels, but will occasionally use it to visually see how something is done, or watch a review on something I am interested in.  It always amazes me how easy it is for some jackalope to set up a camera or phone and say things about things............. Some good, some bad. The beauty is NO ONE forces you to watch.

Bingo, 100%!
I subscribe to a lot of YouTube channels. Three main categories: Bible stuff, motorcycle stuff and gun stuff. But I most certainly don’t watch most of their content as I tend to know what they’ll say after a while. In that case, I’ll unsubscribe to a channel.

Mostly I’ll search under specific topic.

Sad Case: I’ve found way too little Guzzi 1400 content. Mostly old reviews, nearly all raving about how nice the bikes were. Plus one German channel where the guy is fantastic to watch work. It’s one of the most eye opening educational channels I’ve found for Moto Guzzi.

I agreed with 90% of what he said and understood 100%. If you had no idea what a Guzzi was but wanted one, this would prepare you adequately for what you were buying.
I don’t think he got anything that matters wrong.
He is easier to agree with because he is  complimentary, so does not draw criticism.
He is a bit wordy, but then so am I, so I can’t be critical of him. I liked his willingness to accept the fact that not everyone wants the same thing from a bike and we are not all spec sheet driven.
For a young guy, he has a refreshing outlook.
Similar to Fort Nine.
He’s ok.

I agree, overall he did a great job. And his primary audience are not red suspenders crowd. I particularly like how he correctly identified the fact that most of the people he knows who ride a Guzzi are VERY experienced and mature riders, and not the 'oh I wanna be cool looking hipster'  A true enthusiasts bike. I can't wait till he gets past the break in and runs the motor closer to redline between shifts.

The only major thing I saw an issue with was the comment about 'jacking' from the shaft. I think this is just something people say with any shaft drive. Guzzi REALLY needs to do something better on the V7 as far as the gauges go.... A TFT doesn't have to be square does it?

Perhaps I am used to it, and comparing to the way my XS bikes will literally reach for the sky, but I havent found too much of that shaft effect on anything from my ZG1000 and FJR to any of my Guzzi's with perhaps the Convert as an exception. It will raise up when you give it throttle. While you can almost make the XS11 jump up and down with wheels leaving the ground as it lurches and lifts in hard on/off throttle, and the way the frame twists and pops back into shape in the twisties making it quite an adventure, I don't notice a thing on my CARC bikes while moving on the road hard on and off throttle and downshifts, they only lift a little if I hold the front brake and let off the clutch.

Kudos to your Dad.  Even without sound, that channel is entertaining.

The yammie noob & Fort Nine I find to be painfully verbose.  Kinda like listening to a wine snob describe Malt Duck, or Bill Clinton describe cigars, whiskey snobs, or status snobs, etc.

Casting pearls before swine I guess....

Some day, I plan to be more sophisticated.  Just hasn't happened yet.....

Once I find the right peer group maybe...

Monetization. YT videos under 6 minutes typically don’t earn them any money.

That explains why they will say the same thing 5 different ways.  I always thought they were stretching content to meet a minimum time requirement.

Riders talking while riding always seems hard to tolerate for me for some reason.

In the case of motorcycles, I primarily want information.  In the realm of subjects forbidden here at WildGuzzi, I am much more interested in opinions and perspectives.

Especially on those sites where no holds are barred, and everyone is mature enough to not be offended by a difference of opinion.

there is a you tuber named "doodle on a motorcycle" (i know, i know).  Well, she just explained how she gets paid by You tube in a youtube video.  You could make more money flipping burgers.  Most of what she gets comes from sponsors.  It's worth a watch.

I started watching Doodle a short time ago, basically after she took her dive on a Janus which was beaten to death. She is very straight up. She didn't blame Janus as a combination of things contributed to her crash. Another young lady I follow is Staci who does Ride to Food. She rides a Harley who does mainly touring and includes interesting restaurants and food in her videos.
