Stelvio NTX ABS error and no speedo
« on: February 09, 2026, 01:01:39 AM »
My 2012 Stelvio on a ride noticed ABS error light on constantly and no speedo reading. Have checked all fuses, wiring and earths that I can see. Replaced front and rear (new)  ABS sensors, checked Guzzi Diag for codes, battery is good. To me its like ( as a novice ) that the ABS module has no power hence no wheel sensor data sent back to the module but has voltage at the module on both positive feeds. Checked instrument panel for codes and none logged for panel and ECU.  I'm running out of ideas , help much appreciated.

There is a speed sensor on the swingarm. Check the connections and wiring first, but may have to replace it. Not an uncommon problem.

I have replaced both front and rear ABS sensors with new ones.

Have you disconnected the battery and taken the bike out for a ride after swapping the sensors out? Sometimes needs a few miles to recalibrate.

I'm not 100% sure (don't own a Stelvio), and there are variations in the CARC bikes, but I believe the rear speed sensor for the speedo and ABS is the same on the Stelvio. https://www.af1racing.com/883768-OEM-Moto-Guzzi-Speed-Sensor---883768-ex-GU06765400

Battery was disconnected when working on bike, only rode short distance 100M on driveway to see if speedo registered after replacing sensors and it didn't. Both new sensors are genuine Moto Guzzi and correct part number.

Double check all connections wires and connectors from wheels to ABS pump to dash including grounds and go for a longer ride.

Is this bike new to you? did you buy it with this problem? Or did this just start out of the blue? Have you gone out and tested to see if the ABS is working?

If all checks out, you may have a dash issue. Worth the time to pull the cluster, disconnect, clean all the connections and reconnect. You may have a bad dash.

Barring that, I'm out of ideas, but there is a large Stelvio group here and elsewhere that may be able to help you run the issue down.

Double checked connections from ABS module to sensors with multimeter. Problem just came out the blue, month or so prior did a $400KM + road trip no issues. Can't say I've activated the ABS ever. I've spoken to other Guzzi  experts and last suggestion is take bike to a dealer and get checked with PADS diagnostic tool as in Guzzi Diag I'm not seeing any errors. Thanks for your help.
