California 1400 Wheel Sensors
« on: April 14, 2026, 09:31:19 AM »
So I bought my 2014 California Touring a year ago. I was out on a ride a little over a week ago, and the traction control and ABS lights came on. Pulled over, checked everything out, and kept riding. That's when I noticed that the speedo wasn't working. It read 0mph. Eventually, I came to a stop sign, and when I took off, the speedo came back. Over the next 10 miles, the speedo slowly dropped off, eventually reading 10mph while I was doing 60, before going back to 0. It hasn't come back, since.

After some research, I determined that the culprit was most likely the rear wheel sensor. I pulled it, cleaned it, and reinstalled it, but that didn't fix it. I did the same with the front, though I've read that the rear one is the only one that feeds the speedo. Still nothing. So my next move is to replace it. Here is my question: where are the connectors located at? Just trying to save myself some disassembly time by finding out which cover(s) I need to pull, before digging into it. Thanks in advance.
