code reset
« on: April 20, 2026, 11:02:10 AM »
I did a search and read the post: Diagnostic code--2016 Stelvio.
It kind of got me going in the right direction, but still not there yet. Here's my situation:
Right after I bought my 2016, I had a battery failure, so replaced the battery. This was in November.
Ever since that time, my clock has read "0:00". Always annoyed me, read the owner's manual and finally got the clock set correctly a few days a go.

But I still have the Service Indicator lit, and I tried to reset it without any success. I attempted the "Code Reset", I changed the code once to "00000" but then tried to access it and it does not recognise it. Tried the Code Retrieval, but upon entering the "00000" it says "Incorrect code". So then I started googling.

If I understood correctly, the thread mentioned above said that there is a "Service Code" and a "User Code". If I read correctly, the latter is the one I am re-setting, but I need the former in order to reset the Service Reminder.
My 2009 Stelvio had the code written down in the Owner's Manual (by the original owner, I presume) but this one does not. Again, the other thread said something about 10696--I'll give that a try, but I think it also said that the code was unique to the bike...
Can anyone give me some guidance?
Thank you in advance, Rich

That is the exact thread I was referring to in my OP.
As I said, yes, I have read the entirety of it and no, it did not help to solve my problem.
Perhaps I mis-read it, but please re-read my original post to understand what I read and what I think I got from it.
Thank you, Rich

This is from the linked page:

"10695 gets you into the diagnostics -- kind of like a password.  Once in, you can review/reset dash codes and ECU codes, as well as reset the services indicator"

Use the LH handlebar toggle to get to the "menu" page. Then scroll to diagnostics, diagnosis or the like. Click it, then using the toggle, enter the "service code"

Once in scroll to service reset or the like and click it.

You can not reset the "service code". only the user code can be reset.

BTW, your doing better than I when I need to reset the clock. The service manuals don't really explain how to do it and I don't have the user manuals for the bikes when I need to do it to tell me how.

Hope this helps!
