Breva Heated Grip cable position

Hi All,

Do you know how to move the position of this cable so it is facing down?  Or is it an issue with the throttle cable lengths?

Not what you're asking but that static position looks fairly good: as the throttle is opened the cable will drop down to a nigh on perfect location.
It seems that the heated grip was slid into place with the cable exit at (IME) an unusual angle. Personally, I wouldn't risk trying to slide the grip out, to relocate it. I realise that it makes pressing the starter button slightly awkward but consider how often that is needed. In your climate, having the cable facing downwards whilst riding is beneficial for the rain dripping/flowing from the cable. 
Frequently, the cable exit is found/forced in a more awkward position, risking fouling the brake lever, stretching the cable or compromising throttle action.

I'd re-do that cable tie, as it's not giving any cable relief. I'm assuming the switchgear isn't properly closed up, as you were working on this.

Yes, I am working on it and wanted to have a look inside.

When riding at constant speed, the cable position moves very little, as the throttle would be fully open with the cable at 6 o'clock.
I bought the bike recently and I am going through some issues starting from the most annoying ones.
I have noticed the previous owner probably had a batch of spare cable ties sitting unused :-).

With the bar end removed, you could try a little wd-40, sprayed between the throttle tube and plastic heated grip tube. Leave the 'bars turned to the left for some time, to allow the WD-40 to permeate down the tubes. Then, carefully, with a couple of screwdrivers prise between the grip and switchgear, to ease the grip off the throttle, ready for repositioning. ** There is always a risk of damaging/snapping the throttle tube, so exercise caution.

What make/model of heated grips are they? The controller is often a clue though may have been substituted. Perhaps they are OEM ones? If so,it's very likely someone else here has better insight.

Thank you.  These are the factory OEM grips for a Breva V1200.  The handlebars and the controls are similar to Norge.

Throttle tube integrated with grip, so stuck with cable positioning, unless someone knows different.

Yes, it is the same design as the Norge and the same controls.

To fix the problem, do I need to remove and replace the grip module with a new one?  Also there is no noticeable stop at the closed throttle position.  Should there be any screw to stop twisting the throttle in the opposite direction?

I may just update the issue and answer my own questions:

- The cable for the heating element is at a 90-degree angle to the throttle-cable fixing point when used with the older-type switches (Breva 1100, for example).  Replacing the throttle grip with the one from Norge or later Breva (V1200) that has a 180-degree angle between the throttle-cable fixing point and the cable for the heating element will hopefully solve the problem.

- The stop at the closed position can be achived by loosening the tension of the throttle closing cable.

The throttle stop is not particularly robust. You’ve to be careful when closing the twist grip against the abutment, heavy handedness will come back to haunt you.

Thanks P., I have noticed that.  I may tension the cable slightly more to strike a balance between the hard stop and a bit of cushion.
