Arkansas fall campout
« on: May 09, 2026, 07:49:33 AM »
Thinking about putting together a Moto Guzzi Arkansas campout this fall and wanted to see what kind of interest there might be.

The idea right now is to use So Live So Ride Camp as the base camp. It’s set up well for this kind of thing with boondocking for RVs, tent camping, hammocks, and a few cabanas onsite. I think they have around four cabanas total. There are also motels about 16 miles away in Clarksville for anyone not wanting to camp.

The riding in that area is excellent. If we do this, I plan to lead a Saturday ride and take everyone through some of my favorite Arkansas roads and stop at a restaurant that’s pretty well known in the area. Would make a good ride for the out-of-state folks that have never ridden up here before.

Right now I’m thinking sometime in October. The campground has openings then, the weather is usually still good, and if we push much later we start running into holiday schedules. The campground also has another event the first weekend of November, so October probably makes the most sense.

We would also have full access to the pavilion at the campground, which would give everyone a good place to hang out in the evenings.

At this point I’m mainly wanting to start the conversation and see who might be interested before I nail down dates.

Who would seriously consider coming?

That sounds good to me.  and it close to Oark, Appel pie & ice cream. if you go the back way about 5 or 6 miles I think, some gravel roads. Everyone should book early, hunting seasons. Rudy

It is 5.5 miles of gravel. Then a few miles of pavement for a good breakfast and a decent lunch.
