Definitely don't agree. I've seen too many Yuasa batteries develop internal open circuits shortly after installation. Never heard of "Expertpower" or "Zipp". Chrome Batterys are good, but in the size I buy (YTX30L) they're an SLA not AGM. Odysseys are good but a bit expensive, but you sometimes (not always) get long service out of them.

Deka (Big Crank, Marathon, whatever the label reads) are still the best in my experience.

Agreed on your feedback.  Yuasa has slipped in quality.  I replaced the Chrome battery under warranty.  No hassles and quick.  Have not bought Odyssey because of the cost too.

I have 2 Odyssey batteries over ten year old and one Yuasa about a year old. I think one of the Odyssey batteries may be dying. I'll look at Chrome batteries when failure occurs. I've had exceptional service from the Odyssey batteries but their prices keep rising. The Odyssey's are available locally Yuasa's are not, don't know about others. I've not heard of the others they tested

I’ve always had exceptional life out of odyssey. Double that of other batteries so the extra cost was worth it. He last on I had went out in 3 years, so I don’t take a risk on them anymore. I just purchase a good atm such as deka and know the life will be about 4 years or so.

The Deka/Big Crank AGM in my Convert is 10 years old and still going. They are usually are good for at least 7 years.

In many decades of motorcycle ownership Yuasa lead acid and then AGM batteries have been 100% reliable 100% of the time.
I know some sing the virtues of lithium etc. Sorry, have at it. I’ve not seen the need. Not one bit.

The odyssey in my California gave up this year and it was marked March of 2016. I replaced it with a U1 from Walmart since it was only 35 dollars vs almost 200 for a pc680.

I have come to like the Duracell AGM batteries from Batteries Plus. They are cost effective, have a 2 year non-prorated warranty, there is usually a 15 or 20% digital coupon and since its a nation wide chain if I have an issue there is a fair chance I'll have a bricks and motor store to go to if I have an issue.

I have had LION batteries and while they are light when they go tits up I replace with AGM because of cost and when I'm putting a battery in a 500+ lb bike having a 5lb lighter battery is like throwing a deck chair off the Titanic hoping it would sink slower.

As a reminder when buying a battery not only do you need to consider the CCA's you also have to consider the Amp Hour rating.  I found out the hard way on my Buell that a 400CCA LION batter (180 more CCA than factory) but only had 4 AH rating. When you touched the starter the voltage would drop to below the BMS limit because the low AH rating and the battery would trip out on safety. I ended up going back to a 220 CCA SLA battery with a 10 AH rating and while the starter did spin slower it started reliably.

I used to race kneel down outboard boats. It always amazed me the number of guys who would do everything to get down to minimum weight. They were the ones that would get DQ'ed for being underweight. Most races were won by the racer who was in the lead coming out of the first turn. It is a running start against the clock so strategy in getting the inside lane and hitting the starting line as the clock hits zero at full speed is the secret to winning. It took me years to perfect my starts and in one light weight class I ran I was seriously overweight, like 30 lbs.

My Li-Iron batteries that I’ve owned were actually 10 lb lighter than a standard lead-acid. Cut 10 lb there, 10 lb by going with stainless exhaust, removing a few other bits, and I think weight savings can be felt. Also, I stay away from Li-Ion and do Li-Iron instead. Less chance of fireworks under your bum.

I go for AGM or LiFePO4 and only when I see a great deal on the lithium ones i.e. comparable or cheaper than Motobatt AGM.
Money no object, I'd fork out for the hybrid ones (Motobatt do one)
Odyssey PC680 used to be the choice but times move on.
I'm beginning to see 8Ah LiFePO4 coming into the market, with the same physical size as the 4Ah ones, at a premium of course.

Some of the worse batteries I have had were Yuasa.
Some of the best were Odyssey.

Just saying, YMMV.

I have had excellent results with no-name inexpensive batteries purchased on the net. The best result was with a 110" Harley I had which would not start, turn over, when the temp was below 40*. The stock battery was 325 CCA if I remember correctly. I got a 500 CCA battery online that fit, no more problems.
