98 V11 EV clutch cable gets hot, no spark
« on: June 15, 2026, 04:04:15 PM »
Hello,

I just acquired a 1998 V11 EV and it won't start.  When the key is in the On position, the clutch cable gets hot to the touch in a few seconds.  I also have no spark.  I think I am missing a grounding strap from the battery to the engine/transmission.  I do have one from the battery to the frame, and one from the battery to the ECU.  Do you think my hypothesis has merit?

Thanks,

Brett

Should also be one that goes to 8mm stud on starter from batt, may have to put up sidestand for spark(switched on stand).
