Challenging find - Seattle WA
« on: August 27, 2026, 03:21:24 PM »

For those that are inclined.. There is a 2013  white Norge for sale on FB in Seattle for $3,000/OBO being sold by estate sale of owner passed.  I inquired within to find out it has NO KEYS, nothing is known about the bike, whether it runs or of the mileage.  I'm not interested.   It would be a huge challenge for someone to get keys made and connected to the ECM to control it.  Someone might be up for it here.  *Besides I am trying to sell one of my Guzzi bikes for a few reasons.    **I asked that they now include that bit of info in the ad for discerning buyers to know such a thing.

Just out of curiosity, if one worked thru a Guzzi dealer with the serial # of the bike could the right keys be found to start the process?
I have an 07 Norge that works great and fits my needs so I’m really not interested even if it had original keys. $3000 for a great bike that doesn’t work isn’t a good deal. But it would be sad if someone got it for $3000 or less  and parted it out.

The xdf for the 5am is out. If someone really wanted to they should be able to reflash the ECU and disable the immobilizer. I helped a local guy with his Ducati that was in a very similar situation like that.  Of course I verified he had the title and in his name first.
