On a serious note. We hate to have to ask members every year, along this time, to help with the expenses of running the forum, which can be a sufficient amount for Luap to have to cover out of pocket.

The monthly recurring is a great option for many. As little as $2 per month. If enough people did that, we'd be meeting our yearly goal very early. Thanks for sharing that reminder.

I think it’s insane that we can’t fully fund this in the first quarter. If I remember some of Luaps numbers there are about 7000 members, 1000 regularly use the site and about 180 donate. All it would take is 200 members donating $20. That’s a tank of gas. I can’t believe any of us couldn’t give up one tank of gas per year. And don’t get me started about the members with over 30000 posts that don’t donate. They must consider their amazing posts (some with a long list of bikes in their garage) as the price of admission.

Any way to make the site ad free for those who contribute versus those who don't? Something like: $10/month or $100 annually and they don't get the ads. Or those who don't support the site can read X number of posts a week but not post or search themselves.

The refusal of the vast majority to support this site is unconscionable.

Thanks folks for responding so graciously.
Like we have acknowledged before it takes a considerable amount of funding to keep a forum of this size up and running.

Can you tag this thread so that it stays at the top of all the threads that show up in the thread list?  I know some other forums do this.  They call it a "stickie."

I think it would be a great reminder, especially for people like me, who need a gentle reminder (often called a "Dope Slap" in my childhood....) to pay my "fair share."

I only tally things up at the end of the month. I believe we've likely met the goal for the year as far as basic services go. Anything extra that shows up will be put into the upgrades account.
