**** New way to help the forum - Amazon Affiliate ****
« on: October 08, 2026, 11:13:13 AM »
All, I've created an Amazon affiliation. The purpose of this is to offset funds that are lacking from donations. One thing that came to mind was the ads. I hate the ads as much as you all do, but the fact is, donations alone do not meet our yearly goals. So, I had to implement ads to help with that and since doing that, I've not had to reach into my personal pocket to keep this ship afloat.

So, I created an Amazon affiliation to help with that. If you're going to shop at Amazon anyway, maybe go through the links that give 3% back to the forum. If this thing takes off good enough and enough revenue is generated for it, I would be able to perhaps reduce or even remove the ads from the site.

The store front is a work in progress and I'll keep adding to it.  Another thing you can do is if you find something on Amazon you want and it's not through this website, you can send me a link to it and I'll give you a reciprocal link using my affiliate number. It will all go into the same bucket.

Anyway, here is the link to the page I'm currently building. Again, I'll be adding to it frequently.

A couple suggestions if you don’t already have them on your list—
  • grease,
  • oils,
  • gasket material,
  • stainless hardware,
  • shop towels,
  • gloves,
  • tools,

…and more.

This is a great idea. The hardest part will be remembering to click the link since I rarely go to Amazon.

What is "X"?

"X" on the adds is where you place the cursor to delete the offending add.

Oh. I don't actually control that.

This will be easy for me because my wife and I both order weekly from Amazon. I actually get most of my oil change products from Amazon for all of my vehicles, as I service all my vehicles myself.
Come on MG family, let’s get on board with this and you guys who, like me having to get wife to assist me, can get your grandkids to help you. 👍

Slight related diversion: the shown multi-tool.
I have a cheap one exactly like it and if you detach the push bike spoke adjuster spanner, it can be used to hold/adjust the centre of the clutch arm. Useful on V7 etc. when the rear wheel is still attached and access is tight, unless yours has an Allen/hex adjuster, of course.

Hope that helps someone.

[Operational: the redirect link doesn't find the product, when automatically switching to Amazon.co.uk. The heated articles go to an appropriate page.]
Whilst here, the multimeter link pointed to a sweet deal on an autoranging one, that makes it easier for the less electrically savvy:

Thanks for that. And I want to remind everyone that if you want a different item than is listed on the products page, just email me the link and I'll reply with an affiliated link. Then, I'll also add that to the products page. In time, it will grow.

I won't be shopping anytime soon but some suggestions would be 10w40 oil for us hydro guys and tubes for the common v7 and early v85. Realistically I would buy more things for my DR650 since that gets more miles every year.

Luap & WG flock,

Don't forget the non-motorcycle stuff that us old farts might order from Amazon, like Ensure, Ben Gay, Poli-grip, Preparation H, Depends, Protein shakes, Tylenol, reading glasses, ice packs, etc...

With enough items on the list, this just might pay for everything at WildGuzzi.com.

Luap,

Can you tag this thread so that it stays at the top of all the threads that show up in the thread list?  I know some other forums do this.  They call it a "stickie."

thanks!

Indeed. I can provide an affiliate link to just about anything. If you see something you want, just email me the link to it and I'll reply with the affiliate link. It will hopefully add up to be enough to remove or at least drastically reduce ads on the board, and you're gonna get it anyways. Win, win.
