new V85 tires

Put these on last week.  After a through thrashing on road and dirt (loose, hardpak, rutted) I'd give them the thumbs up.

I agree that they are a great all around tire.  I put them on my V85 and have several thousand miles on them - they look almost new.  They are very good on loose back roads and are not really loud on the smooth asphalt.
As soon as the stock tires wear out on my V100 Stelvio, there will be a set of Missions that will be installed!

I had a set and unfortunately the rear was ruined by a 1" bolt. I did like them, but they seemed a bit hard on these twisties and every once in a while I could feel a slight "skip" in the curves when my ride became spirited. When I ruined that rear, I just went and put Mitas Enduro Trail Plus all around. I'm very happy with them. They handle so nice, a softer compound that grips and feels much lighter and nimble on the highway and do amazing on the loose gravel that is prevalent here. I use them as a true 50-50 tire. I know they won't get the mileage as the Dunlop, but the price (basically half price as the Dunlop) to performance ratio was spot on for me.

Being an old (bike and rider) BMW guy I always used Metzlers.  I just liked the fact that they made motorcycle tires and nothing else. Then... they moved production from Germany to China.  Metzler quality took a nosedive, in my humble opinion.

I ride only Michelins now.  Hard to go wrong.  Whenever I think of Dunlops for some reason HD pops to mind.   :bike-037:

That being said I will probably switch to Michelin road tires after the Adventure tires wear out.

Hey Kurt,
I'm running Anakee Adventures on my v85.  What model Michelin road tire were you considering?  I thought of buying a set of Anakee Adv. II's between now & Spring but since I feel my off pavement days are behind me, maybe I don't need an 80/20 tire anymore
Oh, I ran Dunlops on my HD's back in the day and have Dunlop E4's on my Wing, fwiw.

I put Metzler radials on my V7850. I didn't see a lot difference in handling, a little bet quicker turn in but not much. I only put a couple of thousand miles on before I traded the bike yesterday. I was starting to see what I thought was a little bit of squaring off which was surprising because I hadn't done much highway riding. I have not been a fan of the brand because my R75/5 came with them and wore out very quickly. These are the only ones I have had since then and will not buy any more.  Still have the Michelins that the bike came with, very little wear. I can put them on my new T120 as they both use the same size. The T120 also came with Michelins. I have never had a set of Michelins so I am excited to see how they do.

I've been looking at the Anakee Road.  They appear to be road tires specifically made for adventure bikes.  Right now I have the Anakee Adventures that came on the bike.  I rarely go off pavement and I find the Anakee Adventures loud on the highway.

I've had Dunlops before on my R80RT and there is no doubt they get a lot of miles.

YMMV

I've been running Anakee 3's on the GSA for the last 4 years and quite happy. They wear well, ride well, have excellent wet/dry traction and as of a few months ago could still get a set for under $400. They also handle groomed gravel roads which is as much off-road is the GSA ever going to see with me as the pilot.

Current set was put on before a summer cross country trip and they ave around 6,000 miles on then and they are around 1/2 worn.

Traded on a T120, how do you like it so far? I recall you were disappointed with your V7 Sport suspension and vibration.

The OEM (I'm presuming) Anakee Adventures on the 2020 I just bought this summer need to be replaced, think I'm going to try the Shinko 705s

That is amazing mileage.  They seem like a great tire but they are heavy with a stiff sidewall and harder compound ($500 set).  I ditched the Anakee Adventure OEM tires on the V 85 after 1200 miles.  I could not tolerate the humming sound going down the road.  Too loud.  Have run Shinko 705's ever since.
I am curious now about the Mitas Enduro Trail Max + ($290.00),  Motoz Tractionator GPS  ($459.00) and Kenda Trackmaster  DTR K 6342  ($227.00).
I am willing to sacrifice some mileage for a softer compound.

I recently put a Metzler Torrance on the rear of my V 85. It feels very similar to the OEM anarchy however it’s significantly less noise.
