Anyone use a Road Passion brand oil filter?
« on: October 14, 2026, 05:30:58 PM »
I ordered a small block oil filter from Amazon and wasn't paying much attention, accept to get the lowest price.

I got the filter today, it's not made by UFI, rather a Chinese company, Lubeisheng Trade Co LTD, under the brand name Road Passion.

It appears decently made, the outer steel surface seems to be painted with a very thin coat of gray, as opposed to UFI steel that seems to a polished steel with no paint.  The filter media looks fine, but that doesn't mean much.   The over all construction seems very similar to UFI.   No where on the filter are there any numbers, letters or anything indicating batch, year, or country of mfg.

I think I know what most of you are going to say... but I have been wrong once or twice!

looks like the same box as the one i got from Harper, never thought to look at MFGR.
Nothing much better than a Tannat from the Salta region.

Be curious how else it stands next to a UFI filter, like the number of pleats. I’d be willing to throw a dollar toward someone interested in doing a side-by-side comparison!

Mass production is amazing!  When you see everything it takes to make the simplest of items, it is hard to believe anything is affordable!

When I worked at the MFG level with Stihl I saw perfect copies of air filters for our cut-off saws. And them when you take them apart the difference is obvious! This is not the place to save $.
