Show me your Guzzi - Not Safe for Dial Up

Its time to put corporate shenanigans, dealership woes, and market prognostications aside for a little while, and focus on that which brings us together.  Moto Guzzi.  Everyone here has an expert opinion when it comes to their OWN bike(s), so, show me your Guzzi, and tell me about it.  Let's associate a bike with the name.

I'll start:








Its a 2000 Quota 1100ES.  I've owned it since new, purchased in 2001.  It's pretty much stock except for happy trails bag mounts and Givi bags, and a Sun rear rim.  Only thing wrong with it is that it doesn't have enough miles.

Here's mine, a 2001 Jackal;

The screen, rack and bags come from an EV. It has heated grips, twin fiam horns, footboards from Harpers. The seat has been rebuilt and with the Airhawk is now good for a tankfull several times.
The cush drive has been altered so it works as per the Danish Guzzitech site. I have run an extra earth from the regulator and fitted new relays. It now has a TomTom Rider 2 Satnav.
I have done 33,000 miles on it from new, but 8,000 of that was this year, since I retired i have been riding more.
This year I did a long European trip taking in 3 Guzzi and 2 other bike rallies. The rallies were in Belgium, Norway, Netherlands, Montcom SW France and near Hamburg Germany. Total mileage was over 5000. I love the bike, I want a new Guzzi as soon as I can arrange some finance, but I don't think I could sell the Jackal unless I knew for sure the buyer would look after it.
This year (firmly holding a piece of wood as I say this) it became the most reliable bike I have ever owned, n damn near 50 years of riding. The Jackal has for 7 years, always got me where I was headed, the previous most reliable were two BMW's each I kept for 7 years and both had to be recovered, one twice.
Virtually all my riding is to bike rallies, this year I have done 12 so far.

98 EV  Bought it new in 2000 from Caswell Cycle.  Added the Corbin seat, National Cycle windscreen, bar risers from Harpers, Givi luggage.  Hitch from Chet.  Around 78,000 miles on it now.

1979 1000SP: Found her in 2005. Carbs, brakes, forks, electrics redone, new dash, Raask handlebar, Harper seat and rear rack, air shocks, Hannigan Classic sidecar with electric camber installed. She is a work in progress, and my best friend...

This is my 99 Bassa, I would not consider myself a cruiser guy. My 12 yearold son never liked long rides until a ride on a borrowed cruiser. I worked part time at a Guzzi dealer when the Bassa's came out & loved the bikes. With the need to go fast in the twistys a Guzzi cruiser was the only choice for me. The Bassa is fast becoming my favorite ride & my daily bike.
I have added fully floating 5.5mm rotors. HyperPro fork springs, YSS shocks.
The Harpers floor boards have made longer rides less painfull. Best of all my son likes riding now, more riding time for dad. ;D

I don't have the extra cash either; and my car is an MG Midget. Between the two, I often find myself light in the wallet, but smiling a lot...

edit: I like that Bassa, but tell us the plans for the project...

here's my pride and joy- a '00 jackal, on her first day home. note the presence of the tourquemada seat, the oddly bent (to me) handlebars, and the existance of the charcoal canisters:



that was october 2000. i seem to be one of the few who poneyed up for the second front brake.

this january, there was an extraordinarily nice day, so we went for a ride (the guy in the backgound elected not to come along):



the russel seat, the lower handlebars, and the set back peg mounts ( i'm not sure from which) all make this, to me, the best bike i could have.
not to say i would turn down a 1200 sport, mind......

This is my first Guzzi, a 1999 EV.  I bought it last Christmas with 15,000 on the odometer, after a friend dropped it off and suggested I "Test ride it for a few weeks".  After sorting out some electrical problems it has been a great bike.  I turned 20,000 miles Friday, so it hasn't been a high miles summer.  The bike has a Corbin double saddle, Givi Maxia box on top and a pair of 42 liter Kappas.  That big wart on the side is a 1995 Motorvation Formula II sidecar  :D

The project started as 850T, my plan is to not make a copy of a V7 sport or a 750s. I took what I think are the best features,  colors & built it to my tastes.
950cc, balanced rotating mass, ram clutch & flywheel, megacycle x10 cam, delorto 36mm carbs, new valves, guides, seats, port work.
dyna ignition, reworked wiring harness & modern fuse block. 
I hope to have it on the road soon.

Just after the Wisconsin Rally this year.

It's a 2001 V11 Sport that I bought in 2004.  Stock AFAIK besides the Teckno bags and two bent rims that will be fixed this winter if the money works out.  Used to have heated grips but I replaced them with some softer grips.  (I wear gloves anyway)  Want to do a lot of upgrades in the future (part of why I'm here) including but not limited to pipes, seat, HB bags, and paint and powdercoat work thanks to years of living on gravel roads.  But I have been very satisfied with her stock so far so I'm not in too big of a hurry.  Currently at 30k miles most of them put on by me and looking forward to a lot more.  Planning on the 2010 National if I'm not broke by then.



And this is my other Guzzi.  '98 EV wrecked in '03.  Messed me up worse than the bike.  Hopefully both of us will be back to 100% or better some day.  I'm either rebuilding it or pulling the motor and making a cafe project with it as I miss my old 850T.  Of course my limited mechanical knowledge, youth, and profession are holding me back from completing this so far.  I have no pics of my older Guzzi or my Yamaha scanned on the computer yet but stay tuned.
