Jeez.... thats quite a list some of you got there....

Started in late 80s...
197x Tomos APN4 moped - got it at a poker game we played as kids  ;D Got me hooked to 2 wheels with an engine.

Nothing till 1998 or so, then:
- 1986 MZ 250 ETZ
- 1984 Moto Guzzi v35 (military version, converted into a cafe racer)
- 1985 Kawasaki GPz 600R (ZX600R Ninja in the US)
- 1978 Yamaha XS 1100 (XS Eleven standard in the US) with Vetter Windjammer IV fairing and Vetter cases
- 1979 Yamaha XS 1100
- 1998 Moto Guzzi California EV (V11 EV in the US)
- 1984 Moto Guzzi V35 (bought back the same bike, but this time it was converted into a cruiser)

The last 3 are still with me.
Since everyone has their list of bikes in their sig... and it seems useful, here we go:
1979 Yamaha XS 1100
1984 Moto Guzzi V35 II
1998 Moto Guzzi California EV
2001 Aprilia RST1000 Futura

I've never sat down and listed them before, looks like I have a problem... I was at the auction in Deland several years ago. My R90s was up for sale, while sitting in the audience waiting this Dnepr sidecar rig came on the block and I guess I had a spasm or some alien took over my body but, I ended up buying it. I had met a few guys earlier in the day, they were admiring the BMW, as I was pushing the Dnepr out  of the building, I ran into them again. I had to wait for the bro in law to bring the trailer so, I went to dinner with this group.  While discussing the number of bikes we all owned or have owned, they allowed me to join their exclusive club, MBA or Motorcycle Buyers Anonymous. I asked what they did, do you talk each other out of buying bike? Oh no they said, we talk them into it. We go along and look at bikes with the interested party and say things like, "you look good on that" and "if you don't buy it, I will" or "if you buy it and don't like it, I'll give you what you got in it". It is a disease!!!

Here's the list...
1947 Indian Chief (basket case, never assembled)
1972 Norton 750 Combat Commando
1973 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport
197? Honda MT250
1978 BMW R100RS Motosport

1987 Kawasaki KZ125
1978 Harley Davidson FLH w/factory sidecar
1976 Moto Guzzi 850 T3 w/velorex sidecar
1987 Yamaha XT250
1980 Moto Guzzi 1000SP
1976 Moto Guzzi Convert w/EML sidecar
1986 Moto Guzzi Lemans IV (doner bike for sidecar build)
1991 Ducati 907ie
1985 Moto Guzzi 850T5 w/EML sidecar

looking at these listings, I'd suggest Guzzi riders have the most experience on all types of bikes..

these listings are incredible...

I certainly agree.

I thought I had an impressive list until I went through this entire thread.  :o

I started riding in 1965

Current bikes running:
2009 Norge
1998 Honda VFR800FI (set up for 2-up sport-touring)
1998 Honda VFR800FI (rehabilitated salvage job set up for commuting)
1975 YAM RD250 (runs but no plates on it)

In order of ownership:
Honda CB160
Suzuki X6 Hustler
time-gap; first wife didn't like motorcycles
1981 KAW KZ550
1982 KAW gpZ550
1982 Suzuki GS850 shaft drive
another 1982 KAW gpZ550
1997 Buell S3T

2001 Suzuki SV650S
2000 Buell S3
2003 KAW ZZR1200
2003 Honda CBR1100XX, Blackbird

My all time favorite: the 2000 Buell S3: wonderful bike with many short-comings
Best all around bike: Honda VFR800FI, despite electrical issues so common in 5th gens, an incredible bike
Best execution of intended purpose: the Blackbird. What a bike!

Jon
Bikes: 2007 Norge, YAM RD250, 2017 Indian Scout. 2021 V7 850 Special

I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari, Tehachapi to Tonopah

I'll try to remember. It started in 1964 or 1965. In chronological order of acquisition:

1959 BSA C15, purchased as parts in boxes (best mechanical education I ever had)
1966 Honda CB160 (first love; bought new)
1968? Honda CL450 (my cross-country transportation to grad school)
1966 Triumph 650 6T Thunderbird (several transcontinental adventures; now being restored by my brother)
1965 Honda CB77 Superhawk 305cc (for girlfriend)
1983 Yamaha XZ550 Vision (with full factory fairing; my best tourer so far; retired)
1992 Yamaha TDM850 (where I learned I hate sitting "in" a bike)
199_ Kawasaki Ninja 250 (great bike, though for girlfriend)
198_ Yamaha Venture 1100(?) (V4, big fairing; I still got wet in storms; hard to pick up)
1983 Yamaha XZ550 Vision, for parts
1975 BMW R90/6 (liked it less once I got a Guzzi; failed on long trip; glad to sell it later)
1976 Guzzi 850-T3 (still ride and love it)
1959 BMW R60/2 with Spirit Eagle sidecar (still have the sidecar; bike sold to a collector)
2007 Guzzi Griso 1100

Red = still in the family

Interesting exercise.

I started at age 15 with a Honda 90 Sport. Then came a 1960 Matchless 500 scrambler. Then more British twins than I can remember. First Guzzi was a '76 Convert with a California sidecar in 1980. Bunch 'o Guzzis since then, presently riding a '95 California. I figger about 50 bikes, plus or minus a few...

Guzzi V50 3 - Full rebuild following write off accident.
Suzuki GT 185 - To keep on the road whilst the V50 was being re-built.
Yamaha XT 600 Tenere
Ducati SD900 Darmah - Should have kept this one- the sound was awesome.
Triumph (Hinckley) Trident 900
Buell M2 Cyclone - The early one with serious reliability/recall issues.
Moto Morini 500 Sport - With out doubt the best handling bike I've owned.
Moto Morini Camel 500
Cagiva Gran Canyon - Nice engine, but
Buell M2 Cylone - Despite previous issues I could'nt resist it, and actually had 3 good years before reliability problems set in again.
Honda St1100 Pan European
Suzuki GSF1250 - Competent but oh so bland.
Moto Morini Camel 501 - Current, lovely back roads tool.
Honda RD04 Africa Twin - Current. 70k miles, the most comfortable ride and you really can see so much from up there!
Guzzi...? - Looking for a small block 4 valver to keep me busy in retirement...

Thanks for the opportunity to do that, no sense to it at all, but each one filled a purpose at the time, so no regrets!

I almost have to do this just to see if I can remember all of them... The years of some of them will be a guess.

It starts humble

3.5 hp Tecumseh Mini Bike
Honda Trail 90 - Orange with aux fuel tank and dual range transmission. Used a boat cushion for the passenger seat.
1970's Yamaha 125 Enduro - Dad sold it because I brought home a bad report card from high school.
'81 Kawasaki 440 LTD - Belt Drive - First real street bike - I was 19 and had just moved out of the parents house.
'83 Honda CB 1000 Custom - A big step for me. I dumped it in a grassy median on a busy street with my future wife on the back.
'78 Suzuki GS 750 - Bought for $500 and road on a 6 week 11,000 mile trip out west.
'81 Suzuki GS 850 L - Decided that chain drive was not for me
'81 Suzuki GS 1100 G (Good bike !) - Rode it to Colorado - Had Samsonite suitcases for saddlebags
'92 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 - Saw it at the dealership and had to have it - Charged it on a credit card when I was 22 years old and still in college. Brilliant money management !
'83 Yamaha XJ 900 - Rode it 2 up to Sturgis
'82 Suzuki GS 1100 L - Rode it 2 up to Maine
'91 Suzuki DR 250 S - Bought new - Fell down a lot !
'97 Honda Valkyrie - Bought new - Rode it 2 up to North Carolina and then another trip to New Mexico
'90 BMW K 75 - Rode it for a season then passed it on to the wife.
'82 BMW R 65 LS - Rode it for a season and then tried to pass it on to the wife... She hated it.
'93 Suzuki GSX 1100 G - Had it for about 2 weeks - Then stumbled on a red Mille GT for sale and did some quick horse trading.
'89 Moto Guzzi Mille GT
'81 Moto Guzzi CX 100 (Had it for a week - needed more love than I had to give)
'03 Moto Guzzi California Aluminium
'04 Moto Guzzi Breva 750 - Bought new - (wife's bike)
'08 Moto Guzzi Breva 1200 Sport
'04 Moto Guzzi Breva 750 (another baby Breva for the wife)
It will always be better to be shot out of a cannon than sqeezed out of a tube - Hunter S. Thompson

Hunting for another Guzzi

'08 1200 Sport - Sold It
'04 Breva 750 Red - Sold It
'04 Breva 750 Silver - Gone
'03 California Aluminium -Gone
'89 Mille GT - Miss
'80 CX 100 Lemans - Don't Miss

Mile High Guzzi

It would be interesting to get your comparison of your current (3) Guzzis (in a new thread) as many people on this forum own or are contemplating one or more of those models (V7,V11,12S)

Well, you asked for it, so here goes:

1973 Honda 500 Four
1975 Honda 550 Four
1977 Triumph Bonneville 750
1983 Moto Guzzi LeMans III
1984 H-D Sportster (iron head)
1985 H-D Dyna Low Rider
1984 Laverda RGS Executive
1986 Moto Guzzi LeMans MK IV (red)
1974 Norton Commando 850
1988 H-D Sportster 1200
1987 Moto Guzzi LeMans MK IV (white)
1987 Moto Guzzi LeMans SE
1989 Moto Guzzi LeMans MK V

1990 Honda Hawk GT 650
1991 Moto Guzzi 1000S (big valve)
1991 BMW K75S (red)
1993 BMW K1100S (dark red)
1994 Yamaha FZR 1000
1994 BMW R1100R
1994 Ducati 900 SS
1995 Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport (silver/carb)
1992 BMW R65 LS
1995 BMW K75S (silver SE)
1995 MuZ Skorpian
1996 BMW K1100S (red/blk SE)
1996 Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport  (red/carb)
1997 Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport I (red/F.I.)

1999 Triumph Thunderbird Sport
1998 Moto Guzzi Centauro Sport (green)
1998 Honda VFR
2000 Triumph Sprint ST
2000 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport
2002 BMW R1150R
2002 BMW R1100S (gray)
2003 Triumph Bonneville Centennial Edition
2003 BMW R1100S (red)
2004 Triumph Thruxton
2007 H-D Dyna Low Rider
2008 H-D Softail Classic
2009 H-D Dyna Super Glide
2009 Triumph Bonneville
2009 Moto Guzzi V7 Classic
2008 Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport
2004 Moto Guzzi Coppa Italia

All were bought new except the 1973 Honda, 1974 Norton, 1991 BMW K75S, and the 1998 Centauro.
I've often strayed for Guzzi, but always came back. Lost a lot of money over the years, but had fun doing it. Never warmed up to Japanese bikes, as you can probably tell. I think I had the Harleys I owned, because of the v-twin 'feel'.

Guzzi bikes and Guzzi people are the best!

I started riding in 1969, at the age of 36.  I bought a 50cc Puch from a friend who "got stuck" with it when sears stopped selling them and he bought the remaining 10 thinking his colleagues would buy them. It was a spur of the moment thing.  Like "Guzzi Atlanta," I had been told from birth that even thinking about a motorcycle would kill me!  That little Puch was so much fun, I was hooked, but I wanted a real one.  The list below is what followed, and took me over 300,000 miles since then.

Honda CB 350 Scrambler
Honda 500 Four
Honda 550 Four
BMW R90/6
BMW R100RT
Gold Wing 4 cylinder
Gold Wing 6 cylinder
BMW K75RT
BMW K1200GT
Moto Guzzi Breva 1100
Still riding at 77, and I love the Guzzi.
