In order of acquiring, started riding in 2004.
1981 Honda CB750F - First bike, still own it, put a few thousand miles on it.
2006 Yamaha FZ6 - Bought new, put 26K miles before trading it for the Shadow Aero
1981 Yamaha XT500 - Banged up, off-road only. Sold it.
2008 Kawasaki ZX14 - Bought used with 700 miles on it.  It was stolen with about 11,000 on it.  I miss it.
2008 KLR650 - Bought with 7k on it, just traded it with 23,000 on it for my first Guzzi.
1999 Honda Shadow Aero 1100 - Only put about 1000 miles on it, great bike, but just took it in a trade so it was up for sale.
1986 Honda Shadow 1100 -  Bought it cheap, put a few hundred miles on it over a few months, traded it for a beater car.
2011 Triumph Sprint GT - This replaced the ZX14, bought "new" with 4000 miles on it, dealer demo.  It's been a very busy year so I've only put a little over 1000 miles on it commuting so far.

What put you off the singles eventually?

1962 HD Duo Glide full dresser
1972 HD FX/Super Glide this was a AMF Harley and for those of you who do not know, AMF all but took Harley single handily out of the MC business. This was without question one of the worst bikes ever built.
It was a stripped down 74" dresser with a sportster front end with drum brakes. No suspension or braking.
1973 Ducati 750 GT bought new Ah how sweet it is. My first Italian. Traded  a Berliner dealer who had that early model Duck since 72 sitting there he could not sell. He trade me straight up for my one year old Harley.
The Duck was titled as a 73 but it had a very low VIN number and had been in that shop since 72. 
1990 Moto Guzzi Mille GT Red and loving it but really really wanting a new Cali touring.

In the order that I owned them, starting in 1968.
-Early 60‘s Small Honda, probably 50cc or less, twist and go. Paid a friend of my father's $15 for it. It looked like it had been through a couple of World Wars when i bought it. Always started easily and ran well. Fun to pucky around on. Don't believe I ever checked the oil. Went down at a corner missing a car that had run a stop sign and got a little road rash, my first lesson that you gotta watch those fricking cars.
-mid 60's Honda CB450. High performance engine. fast bike. lucky I didn't kill myself on it. No MSF course, no helmet, no experience to speak of.   
    The person I sold it to threw a rod, it was a very high rpm engine. It was a good riding bike.
-Mid 90‘s Kawasaki 454 Magnum LTD. Also a fast bike, but it didn't feel well balanced, and was pretty low for a tall person.
-1986? BMW R1000?RT pretty good bike. I always had trouble starting it.
-1996 Harley Sportster 1200. good riding bike.
-2000 Harley Road King. I bought this bike new, back when Harleys were hard to get. I stood in line for three days to be far enough up in line to order a bike on order day. The bike came three months later. It was an OK bike, but felt like a freight train to me. I just don't like big bikes.
-2004 Harley Sportster 1200
-2002 Honda Nighthawk 250 Very nice bike to ride, good suspension, but not enough power.
-2006 Buell Blast, best handling bike I ever owned, had plenty of power, good balance, but didn't have enough suspension, it is ugly, and put together weird, hard to work on. had a plexistar 2 windshield on it that gave excellent wind protection all the way up and down.
-2008? Buell Lightning 1200cc very fast bike, but didn't like it.
-2007 Harley Sportster 1200
-2010 Harley Street Glide Trike. These are very stable machines. You can power through a corner in a controlled slide like a sports car. They handle well, ride well. They are a completely different experience than riding a bike. They are motorcycles, but not bikes.
-2012 Yamaha V Star 250 my present bike. This Yamaha has more power than most of the 250's, but not quite enough in my opinion, and needs a little more suspension, and maybe a little more weight.

 I have a bad back, and sensitive ears due to too many firing ranges, so I need a fairly lite bike that is not too noisy. I like the standard motorcycles. Harleys are good bikes, but too noisy and too heavy, and the big ones feel to me like I'm riding a freight train, not very personal.

My next bike may be a newer v7 Classic. I joined this forum to see what the Moto Guzzis are like, and they look pretty good to me from what I have read here. Maybe not perfect, but what is? The v7 at 430lbs may be the sweet spot for me. People here say they handle well and are well balanced, and 50 hp is enough for me. I will be getting on one soon to see what they ride like.

OK, I'll play, even though I'm a new rider:

In the mid-80's, I had an early 70's Yamaha 100cc enduro (don't remember the model) that I got for like $50 in non running condition.    I cleaned up the carb, put new points an a plug in and got it running.    My parents made me sell it (was < 16 at the time) when I got caught riding it on the street.

Fast forward 25 years to this past fall, I finally got my first (legal) street bike, and I guess I had some pent up desire for motorcycles.    I bought all these since this past Sept:

What put you off the singles eventually?

Nothing, my previous single before the Guzzi was the Royal Enfield which got forced off the road and crashed. I was going to get a new Enfield Continental cafe racer, but after waiting 4 months, and they still hadn't arrived over here, I needed something to ride. The Guzzi looked pretty nice so I bought it. I wasn't wrong! I like the Goose a lot, except it isn't as comfortable as the Bullet was.
