Appreciate the offer. this "28 light came all stainless. I've already coated it black (to match the headlight - chrome ring), it is LED, as are the side markers, and all soldered into a custom pigtail and in the bracket housing.

Trike sounds like a pretty cool project.

Ye old Jackal, MG sport screen, Lucas style tail light, MG crash bar, Gran Tourismo grips, Napoleon bar end mirrors, low flat track style bars, aluminium rear turn signals mounted to frame just under seat, highway pegs mounted to frame just under crash bar, 30 Lt. HB bags (not pictured), EPA crap ripped off and vac. connected between cylinder heads, dropped rear fender about an inch with a drill and some plugs for the old holes, Last and most important cut air box top off, Lafranconi mufflers and PCIII brought it all together nicely.

Good one. Almost a bobber!

I am only getting about 50% of the  :PICS!: the rest is a big screen with a question mark. Any problem going on WG?
What makes a Jackal special.
One thing I noticed is the come looking almost like bobbers and as one example showed it was bobberish and yet others are beautiful in full dress.
But what else makes a JackaL special. Why only one disk. And do you get much by going dual up front?

Amazing how long a thread lasts on this site, and still has interesting new posts.  Here is a National Cycle Street Shield EX which I like a lot.  Their link:
http://www.nationalcycle.com/catalog/product/view/id/54/category/5391/

The "EX" is a little larger than the straight "Street Shield."  It doesn't look huge but does get the wind and most bugs over my helmet.  Hands are out in the breeze.

The site does not show this windshield for any Guzzi, as far as I could see but it was mounted when I bought the motor in 2012.  One of the mounting points recently broke out and I found the shield is available without hardware for a significant saving.  I down loaded a Kawasaki (it seems) installation guide since there are none specifically for Guzzi, and the whole assembly seems next door to universal.  The lower mounts are attached to the upper forks with screw hose clamps, and the upper hardware attaches to the handlebars.  Only non-universal thing to watch is to select a style which has clamps the same size as your handlebars!

The National Cycle agent with whom I spoke said the styles which attach to the headlight brackets, (F-15 & F-16 series), are more specific than the ones which mount like the Street Shield models, so it's doable.

Some beautiful bikes here. My Jackal has floorboards, outsider kit, no canister, h pipe, handle bar riser, Corbin solo seat, leading link from fork, National bags, and a Ural sidecar. There may be more that I'm forgetting.

I have a large clear windscreen that I really don't like, and am very interested in one of those sport or cafe screens for cooler weather.

That looks perfect with a side car. I just mounted a cafe screen on mine today. Gonna put about 140 miles on it in the morning, hoping it blocks my chest and little else.

I bought the West Cost Jackal in San Diego, rode it out there from Sept to May, put nearly 10K miles on it and rode it back to Maine in July...  3460 miles in six days... lol  Lovely rig.

Well, I'm a fan, but I'm the first to admit Radguzzi's skews the mean....his is near perfection.

FWIW, I've given up on the cafe fairing. Wasn't nuts about the cosmetics (I've seen them painted and they look great) but more importantly, I think it actually makes highway speeds worse. Throws all the air right across my Chest and shoulders more focused than with no fairing at all. Been on the search for an alternate to it and the barn door I've got.

I say do it.

I love the café fairing look but you're right, they do not do much for directing the wind off the upper body.

Believe it or not I rode that V11 across the country with that silly little screen...  lol.

I have since picked up an H & H fairing that I have not yet installed.  The design, based on the Swanee Aerofoil from years ago, works very well to move the air over the head and offers very good hand protection in cold or wet weather also.

Hi Red.
The Jackal came standard with one disc up front which I'm sure everyone will agree is adequate. Brembo brakes are the best standard brakes i've experienced.
The other california models were all a little heavier/and/or twin front discs were more desirable; more brakes for your bucks or deemed necessary for the heavier models.

I got mine with one disc on it, which stopped fine, but it was warped and there was an annoying shudder, pulling up slowly at the lights, so I got a  cheap used caliper off a ducati and twin wave blade discs off ebay, which only cost about $150 USD. Now it stops scary fast.

The cheap chinese discs are fantastic. I considered putting a set on my Bellagio, purely for cosmetic reasons. (I was going to get red ones to go with the color scheme) ........... but the standard Brembo twin discs are so good, I don't want better brakes.
As the saying goes,........ "if it aint broke, don't fix it."

If you put an extra disc/caliper on your Jackal, beware. It WILL stop real quick. If you aren't concentrating, you might do stoppies, or lock it up and lose it. Be warned.
Good luck with your ride. Show us some pics.

I like them When Color Keyed particularly, and if it seemed a bit more effective I'd probably stick with it. May be that I've got a long narrow torso. Perhaps a more squat proportioned driver would find the draft going over their shoulders. I like the screen you show on your V11. We discussed this a bit, I think that is probably enough to block my chest. Was runnin' last night at 75mph with nothing at all. First time this year at highway speeds for any duration. Not terrible, but would get pretty tiring after a good while.

CaliJackal and Rad...did you guys replace your headlight buckets or just find eyelids for the existing bucket. Can't quite tell.

Are the rims tubeless type on a 2000 Jackal?

Edit: also what are the factory tire sizes?
