I have surfed since I was 10 and in my later years(I'm 60 now) a partner started calling me "skinnyboy" as my beach nickname so when i came to this it seemed natural to go with guzziboy...I can only remember so much so best not to stray to much.  I remember faces for a lifetime but names...not so good...thats my story...best I can recall  ;0)

Hi,
You may say I have no imagination but I felt no need to use a nick instead of my real name.

My friends in southern Ontario joke that I moved up to the Arctic!  In the middle of January here it sometimes feels like it.

Boy! I hear you...

I just watched "This is 40"... I was wasting time, to be certain, but after an hour and a half listening to that woman whine at her defeated husband, I'm glad to be single!  That, and with 4 BMW's in the stable, I'd count you on the winning end.  Just sayin'.

Hey - you forgot the Lario - basically 4 times the fun of a beemer  ;D ;)  Nice balance in the stable  :D

Wikipedia: "Papa Smurf is a male fictional character from the television show the Smurfs. Most Smurfs are said to be about 100 years old, but at the advanced age of 542, Papa is the third oldest Smurf and the leader of all Smurfs. Despite his age, he is still quite energetic. Easily distinguishable from all the other Smurfs, Papa Smurf has a bushy white beard ...", and "Papa Smurf is a gentle, wise, and knowledgeable village elder." (Bwahahahahaaa)

About 10 years ago the then girlfriend of a good friend of mine attached the name, and it stuck. I got even - I conducted their wedding ceremony about 5 years ago!

By the way, wiseoldfool, your avatar photo is remarkably similar to my own mugshot - my face is perhaps a little more round, but my wife was amazed at the likeness.

Well here we go..My real name is Al but with so many common names used on the web you always have to try a different name when selecting
the one that the web site will accept so hence the name Flatop which also
happens to describe my hair cut, lol. Since 1998 when I bought my first Big Bike a Harley Fat Boy the only other change in my life style was to get a short hair cut so I wouldn`t have to wear a hat after removing the helmet
to expose the dreaded helmet hair which all of us riders are quite familure
with. Oh we`re so vain....

I make my living as a trombone player. Sliphorn is a 1920's - 1930's term for a trombone.

Thanks for the welcome. You'd be surprised. There's quite a few of us sliphorn players out there that do quite well. Movie and television soundtracks, jingles, symphony orchestras, Broadway shows, jazz gigs, etcetera.

Back in 1989 or so when I first began using the internet and emailing, my board administrator suggested his disciples to use the first two letters of their last name followed by their first name, so that's what I did.  Makes me feel rather saintly.

Abu is a Kunyah name in Arabic. It means "father of" so with my son's name David I changed it to the Arabic spelling and pronunciation. Thus "Abu Daoud"= father of David.

My motorcycle is getting a nickname because ever since I shipped it here in the Middle East I have heard nothing but "bookrah" meaning tomorrow. When is it getting released from customs? Bookrah. When am I going to get the last paper I need from Customs? Bookrah. When will the registration be finished? Bookrah. When am I finally going to get to ride this bookrah bike??? Bookrah. I'm the proud new owner of a 2011 Moto Guzzi V7 Bookrah

No, I own it. It's sitting in my little courtyard. I can ride it too as Saudi Arabia has only recently changed the laws for registering motor vehicles to include motorcycles. The police like motorcycles too much to bother me, but I go for a ride on Thursday and Friday mornings while they are all asleep.

And today is bookrah for the last part, picking up the plate and the registration card so tomorrow I ride, inshaAllah.    ;-T

It's a morph of my dog Lofton's name.  Used to call him the Loftness Monster.  He passed away in January so now it's simply a tribute to the boy.

When I bought a Triumph Tiger 1050 used in 08, I joined their forum to read up on the bike as it was my first Triumph.  Lots of names with Tiger so I tried "one" instead of falling in line with all the other "numbered ones", rest is history.

Bare, being my nickname, was a pretty common screen name with other endings, so I needed something a little farther out. Nekd worked real well, it usually doesn't caught up in junkmail or porn site blockers! Haven't had much trouble with duplicates! I shoulda dug a little deeper and brought back my old racing nickname from about 40 years ago, "Valves", because I was the guy who raced 4-strokes in a jungle of ringdingers, Cheney Triumph, BSA B50MX, and Grumph.
