Like some of the others, I'm a glider pilot. Started with bug smashers in '78. Recently traded my 1975 RF5B (www.rf5b.com) for the Moto Guzzi. Had been RF5BPilot on some other forums.....became MGPilot.

I was 65 before I rode my first street bike.  it was an Eldorado basket-case that I had put together and surprisingly, it ran!  So I was a Geezer riding a Guzzi.

Mine is an anagram of the words Zen Moron - it was my nickname before I flunked out of meditation school.

I can't remember if I posted in here, and I'm not paging thru 17 pages to check an anecdote...

I used to manage a regionally famous BBQ joint calld 12Bones here in Asheville.

This place was busy.. like insane...  Serving 1000 folks on a friday in 5 hours busy....

Also EVERYONE in town loves this place, it is a crushing mass of locals and tourists. The line is often out the door and around the building.. Actually it's kinda famous for standing in line for the counter service.

The kitchen is open , and the dozens or hundreds of ppl in line can look right over and see you stirring a kettle of 180# of collard greens or pulling 300 racks of ribs out of the smoker or whatever.. and that's what I was often doing.

We had tons of regulars, everyone is really happy to be there, asking questions about your work, etc...

My mom and uncle came to Asheville to visit once, it was their first time in the restaurant.. we were busy as heck. (I think it was like 3 weeks after the 2nd time Obama came in to eat)

All the regulars, friends, and tourists were talking to me, asking questions, complimenting the food...  I was practically shaking hands and kissing babies while I worked.

In addition, anywhere I went in town, I would see servers, chefs, and bartenders who were like 'hey, 12 Bones guy! have a free beer!" or whatever.

At the end of my mom's visit, she said "Damn, everyone in this town knows you from working there!" "It's like you are the MAYOR OF BBQ"

Around the time I first started using the internet, I had recently completed Army jump school at age 49 - not the hardest thing I ever did in the Army, but not the easiest, either, so I used Jumperjohn as a user name regularly.  Three years later, I completed jumpmaster school in Georgia in the summer - that WAS one of the harder things I did in the Army.  So, I upgraded my user name accordingly.

Back when I'd first started riding horses and home brewing that was the name of the first dark beer I brewed - my cowboy friend loved it.

I have seen this thread, but never contributed, so....

azguzzirep

AZ- abrreiviation for Arizona, my place of birth and residence for 50+ years.
Guzzirep- I was the MGNOC rep for, I dunno, 10 years?  sounds right.

I took over the position at the request of Nolan Woodbury and Jim Knaupp after the previous rep from Tucson, gave up the position.
The Arizona Guzzi rally was in jeapordy of folding, and they convinced (buffaloed) me into taking up the job.  It was fun, met hundreds of great
Guzzi people, no regrets.

Neverquit - Because I never quit, at least so far.  I bought my first bike 55 years ago and can barely swing a leg over one now but I keep doing it.

I knew a guy who rode a Honda Gold Wing into his late eighties and then had trouble with the weight and getting on and off so he then bought a Honda Silver Wing, the scooter, and rode that until he was 92 and then his kids made him sell it.  I don't think I'll be able to do it nearly that long but I'll give it a try.

I was the first born of two twin boys. Predating George Foreman's example, my dad named us both after himself - Norman.

My mother insisted that we be sub-titled as one and two in order to help keep the paperwork straight.

So we were Normzone and Normztwo. The Z came from my parents Hiberno heritage language influences.

In Irish, James is Seamus.  I have loved and ridden bikes for over 50 years.. and no plans to stop, so bikeseamus made simple sense to me. Glad I grabbed it years ago, I guess. Jim who loves and rides bikes.  Also... glad the Guzzibug bit my ass hard a couple years ago. Best bunch of riders on the planet; to my taste. Thanks, Fellas.

My handle is my nickname from WAAAY back in Jr. high, and then high school, and so on.  It's derived from my last name: Stolicny

One bar maid likes to call me "Stoli".  "On the rocks, baby!" , I reply.

Even my brother was called "Stick" when he was in the Air Force...

It's the name of my motorcycle business-King of Fleece LLC.  Strangely enough,I started in the ski and snowmobile field, hence the name.
Thur some connections I got access to our SplitWeight(tm) super fabric, which I used in winter sports clothing.  The nature of the fabric was perfect for motorcycles and as that grew it took up so much time the winter stuff got passed along to someone else.  The name stayed as I already had enough in all the legal, patent, and copy write stuff.

Starting to branch off into a few Guzzi things now-the nice 3D decals are just the start.
