It looks like this was a very successful rally in a great location. In fact the venue looked as though it could have easily coped with a thousand or so more of you!  Two questions. Were the numbers up to expectation? Did the Skype call turn out to be a worthwhile activity?

John , we feel it was a great success , a couple of minor incidents occurred , although to the attendees directly involved they probably weren't so minor . One lost cell phone , and I have heard a tent had a hole burned into it . Almost impossible for us to keep every detail covered .

About the numbers , maybe a few less than anticipated , but still a good crowd , and twenty or so more than last year , which represents the normal percentage of growth for each succeeding year , and honestly , this year was a test case to see what we could do . We will be more prepared next year , or more accurately we will have more cooking equipment and more facilities next year . We started with six over nighters on Sat night in 2013 , and have seen a tenfold increase in five years . Even Wed night we had six I believe , and thirty or so on Thurs .

The Skype thing , hmm , yeah , I didn't have time to pay much attention , did wave and say hi , it did seem to be fun for the folks involved .

The whole thing is still a surprise to me , and am really just now understanding how to deal with certain things involved . In other words , still learning and adapting . The city and the members of our local family are hugely helpful . This isn't about me , rather about the family .

The  beer was cheap because it is 3.2 beer. Sorry I missed it. Looked like a lot of fun as it was the last two years.

Saw your phone on stage.  Rod and I asked the folks in the pavillion but no one claimed.  Put it back on stage. We need an announcement board next year.

Faith the Mayor just called , she says we are the main topic of discussion in town , and will be for weeks . So far all of the comments have been positive , we are a good group

Also , there is some confusion re the T shirts . If you did pre-order a shirt and did not receive one , contact Smithswede  . If by accident you picked one up W/O having ordered one , well , please contact Smithswede also . Sorry for any confusion .

Next year we are shooting for attendance figures nearing 100 , so apologies for staring the promotion of CV in about December . Thanks to the folks who got the info onto other sites  :thumb:

Oh , we signed up a few new members to WG at the event , including a citizen of Cedar Vale . Hopefully we will be hearing from them soon .

I know what happened. I'd ridden to the falls with Lowryter and taken a couple of pix. Dorcia didn't believe there was a *big* falls around there, so I was showing her the pixs when Dusty hollered that he had a job for me. He had a bunch of frozen fish to take to the mayor's house to throw in the oven. I no doubt laid the phone down, picked up the tray and the rest is history.
So.
I blame Dusty.
I needed a new phone anyway..

Wow! Where was this at precisely?!

The only "falls" Katie and I were able to come across were these around the camp site.

Thanks Dusty for organizing this get together. Now you can take a vacation.
Dave and all the many cooks and assistants, thank you! I gained a few pounds.
Thanks to the McKeever family, great team effort.

Few pictures I took.

Goose, I asked for folks to take a ride with me to see the falls, just like I did to see the Motorcycle Museum in Augusta.  No one went to Augusta but Micheal D and Chuck from Ind did take the 20 minute ride west to the county fishing lake.

If you thought the falls was a miss, a bigger miss was Augusta.  :undecided:
Since you live in Kansas, you might take a ride to see both.   :thumb:

and don't forget the twisty Grouse Creek Road.

Completely agree! I have made 3 visits to the Museum in Augusta, I think I can give a tour of those motorcycles by now! Made another stop there on the way back to Wichita. I still need to check out the museum in Marquette, it will happen soon.

Marquette is not on the level of the Augusta museum but still well worth seeing and quite interesting. If you wish let me know when you are considering going and I would join you and can also show you some nice McPherson Co. roads.

Just the same, I wasted most of the day yesterday searching for the best new phone under $300. Ordered last night, it'll be here tomorrow, (60 bux off from Amazon, Lannis)  and Dorcia will be much happier.

"Sweet songs don't last too long on broken radios.." John has a way of saying it.
I always thought John was too "country" for my tastes, but the more I *listened* to what he was saying, the more I like him. Dylan? Maybe not, but really good in his own right.

Goosetavo,
For you and GliderJohn the 2017 Thunder on the Smoky event in Marquette will be on Sat May 20.  It is a good opportunity to see the museum and take in a lot of bikes and other attractions.  Here is a link to the calendar. http://www.ksmotorcyclemuseum.org/schedule.html

It will be a busy weekend for me but I will probably go up to Marquette Sat. morning and come back that afternoon.

I have been to the Augusta museum a few times myself and love the place.  Would be a worthwhile ride from Cedar Vale, although it would take about half a day to ride up (1hr.15min. each way) and spend a couple hours there.
