Dusty—what’s the record for attendance at Cëdir Veil?   Looks like we may break a record. 

I have two newbie Guzzi folks who may join us.

 We had about 70 in 2017 , but yes this year is a pleasant surprise . We might have over 60 , considering this event is literally in the middle of nowhere... One of the local guys that is a friend just shakes his head at the idea that we can get riders from all over to show up in his little town .

Dusty, just so you know, Phil Schreck and I have invited Jack Robinson, the guy who founded and runs the Four-Stroke Single Nat'l Owners Club out of Hutchinson, KS, to come visit us at the rally. We told him that if he wants to spend a night to bring a bag and sleep on our floor at the Lodge. He's a super guy and a past Guzzi owner. He'll fit right in...

 I've met Jack , in fact we had lunch together in the Pizza Hut in Sedan KS after the first small rally in Cedar Vale .

 He was also at the Guzzi rally that a now gone guy put on in Eufala OK in about 1998 .

 We are justifiably proud of what we do in Cedar Vale , we have a lot of fun , do some good , make new friends , catch up with old ones . This is like family reunion , except unlike one of those , we all like each other 

 Don't forget to bring that "thing" hiding in your closet for the auction , we promise to send you home with a replacement to fill the empty space .

What kind of things are you looking for in reference to the auction?

 Anything from silly to serious Bob . We have auctioned candles that smell like castor bean oil , hand grips , a large foam cowboy hat with the Guzzi logo on its sides . Someone brought a service manual , but it really can be anything.  Others here can give better info on this , I am always so busy on Saturday evening most of the auction is missed .

Just back from our NE Colorado Guzzi club meeting, the Golden Gaggle. Six of us there, three are going to Cedar Vale! And then the man, he steps right up to the microphone.
And says (at last) just as the time-bell rings: Goodnight, now it's time to go home. And he makes it fast with one more thing...

 If you have Alchemy bring it , the version of Sultans on that live album is Knopfler's magnum opus . We can spend a few minutes exploring the evolution of the song from the weird original demo version to what Knopfler did with it . Humor me
