I don't see anyone taking notes at the GuzziDiag seminar.    I sent Dusty a pick of me putting on a alt belt doing a 30K everything service.

It was my first visit to Cedar Vale. The little town is old, and has seen better days. BUT, you could stand in the middle of main street for a hour and not hear anything but the wind. There are lots of interesting century buildings to see. The park where the rally is held has ample shade, plenty of tent and RV camping. It is huge. The pavillion is an 1880s handbuilt wooden structure with a stage, multiple electrical outlets, picnic tables, a huge dance floor or gathering space, and is kept in wonderful condition. The townspeople rolled out the red carpet for the Guzzisti, providing a couple days  of hot meals, firewood and a campfire ring. The mayor came and spoke to us, and everyone was super friendly. At night the stars were clearly visible, not polluted by city lights. I see nothing but good things and growth for this rally. I want to thank the town of Cedar Vale, Dusty , Dave, Doug, Rod, and the other Helper Elves for the good grub and the good time.  :thumb: If you didn't go, you missed a good one. I left a little early, so I'm anxious to hear about the mystery surrounding a certain Turnip farmer's announcement.  ALSO, it was nice to get to meet a lot of people who were known to me only by their avatar before. Salute!

Couldn't as for a much better weekend. Nights were just a touch on the chili side and the days did get just a touch warm.  There were exotic car shows, an old motorcycle swap meet, and a antique gas and steam power show all within a couple hours of the town of Cedar Vale.  A group took off Friday for a ride that snaked arond some twisty roads in a wind farm and down to a museum in Okla. ...but I will let others describe that trip.

Great campground with soft dirt thanks to recent rains.

Thanks again to Dusty and all involved in the footwork for putting this on.  Great job also by the locals who fed us well for voluntary donations and made us feel very welcome. A number of the locals showed up to see what we were all about and just chew the fat with us.

Have to say that this event has all of the flavor and uniqueness of the old Sylvan Grove National rallies from many years ago.

I took notes aplenty. Dave did a great job.

Got back home at about 10:30 this morning after what I described as a near perfect ride home on the T-3. Great rally with great people all having a great time. Here are some more pictures:

Dorcia's a big FLW fan, and we rented a suite last year before the (not a ) rally.  :thumb: Very kool.
Looks like the weather kept attendance down this year. Bummer. Next year will be a record. Just sayin..

Props to Dusty and all those who put together a great rally.  It was fun to put some faces to the names I've been seeing for several years.  A special shout out to RoadKill for the Guzzidiag seminar.  Dave, I don't know what you did but the EV has never run better on the ride back to Fort Worth. I still need to sync the TB's but most of the aggravating vibration was smoothed out.

RK, does your rig have what is effectively a floating caliper and the forces are transmitted back to the lower part of the steering head?

Arrived home late Sunday afternoon, 700+ miles, lots of traffic with drivers doing some really dumb stuff, fortunately no serious accidents.

Good event, thanks for all the hard work Dusty and crew of volunteers.

Have a good one and ride safe out there guys and gals.

My calipers float.  There is no force transmitted to the steering head or the suspension.  The reaction rod ties to the vertical leg at the upper shock mount, so the force doesn't make the front end rise or drop under braking either. Any dive at the leading link is purely weight shifting forward.
