Let's take a walk in realty park .

Have been trying to study up on what is happening re the --19 virus . At this moment no one is 100% certain of what will develop , but it is looking like we might need to at least delay the event . Truly sorry , but this is in Mother Nature's hands , just how it is . Haven't pulled the plug yet, hang with me fellas , we will do something here .

 Thanks

I've been telling myself: Hunker down and hang in there, play it smart.  When we come out the other side I can feel good about riding the wheels off the bike and putting money back into the economy at the same time.  It'll be my civic duty.

Sounds like a plan Sarah . We will do something in Cedar Vale as soon as it is possible .

I literally have no idea what to do here , there is simply no way to accurately reschedule the rally , I am unwilling to be part of the disease vector . The fact is , until this truly passes our presence in Cedar Vale would probably be unwelcome by some of the locals , the same people who work hard to help make this rally work . Please be patient , thanks .

What other dates are available, or is the summer booked for Hewins park for other events?

My concern in the short term is even if the contagion is contained by early May, how do we know that the same folks who serve breakfast, bake pies etc...are also beyond the contagion stage.

At a minimum, I'd say, each rally participant would need to manage their own cooking/drinking...nothing shared, and perhaps the social events of the museum/baking/town breakfast have to be cancelled.

We could of course also mandate 10 meter distances between tents...

I have no idea , and won't reschedule until I do have something concrete . Honestly , a rally where everyone must be on their own isn't appealing. The simple fact is , no one knows when this will pass .

Dusty, if you feel any pressure to put on this rally, please let it wash right off. We all realize what putting this thing on entails. And what a terrific responsibility you must feel for the locals and their visitors. I just did a day ride with friends. it felt odd and wrong, frankly. And taking an overnight trip? Where would you stay and feel safe? Where would you get food? How could you handle the food and feel safe? Even purchasing fuel is scary. I wish that were all the questions...

Please use your own good judgment and we'll be pleased, whichever way it goes.

Well said...really should not be any pressure to make it happen in these circumstances.

If people really want together, could always do a Facebook Live or Zoom call...the WildGuzzi Virtual Rally...no camping involved!

I'm just concerned for Prescott...he always looks forward to Cedar Vale for his aromatherapy, triple thai masseuses walking all over him and specialty gluten free, vegan, non dairy hush puppies!

I have never been very good at predicting the future in specific terms , and neither was Pliny the Elder . I have consulted with a real genuine psychic and a couple of medium sized dogs about when this mess will come to an end . The psychic mumbled some nonsense and wanted money , the dogs said "blah blah blah woof woof" , then wagged their tails in anticipation of a dog treat . I interpreted what the medium sized dogs said to mean the psychic was full of poop .

Information only -- the Burkesville, KY BMW Rally, hosted by the Nashville, TN Beemer group, is normally held in early May, the weekend after CV.  It has been rescheduled this year to September 10-13 due to the virus.  And, from what I'm reading, that may not be late enough for this situation to pass.

Let's stay hunkered down and try to stay healthy.

Just spoke with Cindy at City Hall , and Faith , who as most of you know has worked tirelessly to help with the rally . Basically we have left this open ended , when it is safe we will do an event , be it this Fall , or next May . They reassured me Hewins Park will still be there and available to us  :thumb:

I worry more about infecting the people of CV, if we came there in mass before this is over or controlled.
The best part of riding a motorcycle is to tilt the horizon and to lift the front coming out of a corner and to drift the back end powering thru loose dirt and to catch a little air topping a hill and... yeah it's all good!

That was already discussed , and yes , as people of conscience we have a responsibility to not do exactly that . Cedar Vale would be decimated .

FWIW and food for thought I have prepaid for the Talimena shelter for that rally. While that may end up in the same boat as Cedar Vale as far as accommodations those dates are available.

With the latest information and "predictions" from the Administration, my earliest Rally trips this year will be in the month of June.  It could be the WNY Rally, I'd really like to get up there again, but those dates may be a bit too early.  More likely is the MN Rally in Grand Marais at the end of the month.  Following on, it will be the normal schedule of events to the end of the year.

All this is predicated on the general population following the guidelines on how to protect themselves and others.  If that doesn't happen, the riding season for me will be a write-off.

Have a good day and stay healthy.

I’m not up to date on all this.   Are you saying the Sultan of Cedar Vale has canceled my aromatherapy and my Triple Thai masseuses?  AND my special hush puppies??????

I’m spiraling into a black depression.  Only heavy drinking might help at this point.

From: https://www.cjonline.com/news/20200331/kansas-coronavirus-update-gov-laura-kelly-suspends-barriers-to-jobless-benefits-after-55k-file-claims-statersquos-death-toll-may-climb-to-700

University of Washington researchers predict epicenter of coronavirus pandemic in Kansas will hit in late April; Gov. Laura Kelly signs order to bolster jobless benefits; Kansas reports 10th death, KDHE issues exposure advisory after church gathering in Kansas City, Kan.
UW forecast that --19 would claim the lives of more than 1,149 people in Oklahoma and 1,055 in Missouri by Aug. 4. In Colorado, UW’s model estimated 2,151 would die from --19 during that four-month span.

If the apex is late April in Kanas then early May is very close to the Apex.

Good question . We are hoping to have the drawing at the event , this being uncertain about things is a bit maddening . Let me think on this a bit .

The end goal is $5K , which seems doable over the next few years . The two groups have also contributed about $11K over the 9 total rallies in indirect contributions donated via the meals provided by the organizations . I haven't been actively promoting the fund raising efforts lately , figure most of us had other things on our minds , just thought we needed some good news .

I am determined to keep doing these events with the help of everyone who works so hard to make them a success for at least another 4 years .

So certainly one of the improvements then will be onsite aromatherapy at the "newly improved Hewins Park locale" rather than at the local hotel - Prescott will be pleased!

If they can build a nice flat wall somewhere I'd be happy to bring the movie projector to show Saturday night movies as well!
