Just love them Guzzis! Woke the T-3 up today from it's winter slumber. I don't think it had run since December something. With choke it started up within a couple of revolutions and idled. Backed it out of the garage, closed the garage door, took choke off and motored on for 53 miles on a beautiful afternoon. It never missed a beat.  :thumb:

Nice. I would have another 50cc model in a flash; cost of licensing is way down, and it's all you need to get around town here.  Brilliant machines with BIG wheels! :thumb:

Thanks guys.  Dusty, you left out the "k".  Where does the "jones" come from?; is it from the Ray Stevens song "Along Came Jones"? (a man that could do anything)

Google is your friend.

Still doesn't tell me where jones or jonesing actually comes from.  Seth's description of "the undeniable passion or love for someone or something" makes me wonder if the term originates from the Jones of Ray Stevens who rescued damsels from railway tracks and sticks of dynamite down abandoned mines.

Classic song, even if the term does not originate from it.

The term originated from Jones Alley in Manhattan .

Perfect!  130 miles on the 12S in very breezy, sunny 70 degree weather.  Combined with 90 miles on the R100GS yesterday, it was a good 'fix.'  We're dropping back into the 50s tomorrow, and there is lots of wet weather in the forecast, but the past two days made up for a winter of snow and more snow.

Yesterday our desktop computer started making loud metallic noises form inside.  Taking the side cover off revealed the fan in the power supply had dropped down, and if it turned at all it was bouncing on the grill and hence the noise.

It must be about 10 years old; I ordered all the bits the day Windows 7 was released after months of researching the "best bang for the bucks" parts.  It has been exceptionally good, the only thing I had to replace was the hard drive, which, although testing showing nothing being wrong with it, was one of the ones that would not do W7 to W8 to W10 upgrade path.  I am hoping it will hold together until the Ryzen 3000 series stuff comes out.  My wife does a bit of photography and video work, and her latest camera is a 4K video model and the present system, although handling it, could be better.

I hauled the power supply out, cleaned out any grime, lubed the shaft with some synthetic fishing reel lube that is slicker than a greased eel and hoped the clip that had let go would grab the groove in the shaft.  Flukes count and it did. :thumb:  Took the front fan out that had been grumbling, threw some lube at that, and it quietened right down.  While putting this back in the front which is only held in by clips, let go and ripped the wires and a pin each off the start and restart buttons. Bugger.  Went online and found a close by computer shop which had some $3-00 single push switches.  Fired up my die grinder as the case had to be modified drastically, fitted the two switches and she all fired up (quietly) again. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:  I felt rather chuffed as from the outside it still looks pretty original.

Cheap fix (Guzzi content ) and hopefully it will get us 4 months until the new stuff, which evidently supports USB4, comes out. Also,  :thewife: is happy again. :thumb:

I had an eventful day.

Moved my mother-in-law to a nearby assisted living center. God bless us all who are taking care of aging parents/inlaws.
Buried one of the last feral cats who survived Hurricane Ike in 2010. She was hit by a car.
Saw the Texas' Tall ship Ellisa sailing in the Gulf.

Good, Dusty.. thanks for asking.  Opened the door to the SoCal Guzzi Garage (tm) blew the dust off the MZ, turned the fuel on, and it started instantly.  :thumb: I have plans of heading toward San Francisco via 33 north of Ojai, a *great* motorcycle road, and spending  two or three days riding the coast/finding new roads/being a gypsy.

Sweet!  There's a nice hotel right down the coast in front of Hearst Castle I've stayed at a few times...great to see the fog rolling in while walking with a morning cup of coffee!

Enjoy the Trip!

 It sucks, more rain.
BTW "Along came Jones" came from the title of an old western movie in the fifties by the same name.  Slow talking Slow walking the hero was as he rescued the maiden from villains.
