Hang tight brother.

I know that you've had to deal with this type of situation
before but no amount of training or experience can prepare
for something like this.

Reach out whenever you want to or need to.

Thanks Dave . I'll get my phone on probably Fri , it's just been so hot and humid here that even being outside after 10:AM is very unpleasant .

I've noticed heat warnings for your piece of the world. Been thinking of you for that reason, but wow, just wow.

Dusty, that's just horrible... I'm sorry you had to be witness to the whole thing.  Just can't imagine why anyone would resort to such violence - just no need for it.

So sorry you had to deal with that. It's not over. You'll be called to testify -- deposition, and then at a murder trial. It will be part of your life for awhile.  If you're a religious man, go talk to the priest.

Rumors are flying about the incident , crazy stuff .

Here is all I know for certain , the assailant was arrested on 1st degree murder charges , whatever relationship he had with the victim is really sketchy, story in the local paper today , mostly nonsense . I will be fine , do have some concern for the young person who witnessed the stabbing , she is receiving professional help in dealing with this . Have been getting support from several of you folks , thanks , but seriously , I will be fine . Rallies coming up , keeps me focused .

Wow! Absolutely nothing anyone could've done; a blade can have such a finality to it.

Not the type of thing us mere mortals should have to bear.

Not to sound like a mother hen, but for the next little while, pay extra attention to the simple things that can hurt you, each step, driving, using knives, tools, jacks & stands etc.

Glad you've got event planning and guzzis to focus on.

I feel for you, take care

The case is going to trial on the 14th , apparently I am the only witness the prosecutor has been able to locate .

Still , it was a brilliant day , the birds were chirping a bright tune , somehow the skies were a little bluer than normal , too much good news coming in for my spirits to be dampened  :thumb: Hope everyone else has had or is having as good a day .

Dusty  -- If possible, sit down with a prosecutor and ask for guidance about what NOT to say. I was called in the trial for Bev's killer. I answered a question in a way that brought up a topic that had been ruled inadmissible (I didn't know that). Defense moved for a mistrial. It took a day to get it sorted out so I had to testify over two days.

Thanks Seth , I have an appointment the day before . Not sure anything I can add will make much difference , the incident is caught on camera .

Broke rudder on 33 ft sailboat on repositioning cruise from Houston Yatch Club to Galveston.  Bobbing around in Houston Ship channel with the tankers and barges until we could maneuver away using sails to steer.  Houston PD Marine rescue gave us a tow further away from channel. Remained till hired tow boat arivved.

Houston Sheriffs boat ferried us to Lakewood Yatch Club.  Where I went straight to the bar.

Another day at community sailing.

A very thankful Dave

Or not, as the case may be.   I'd hate to try sailing without a rudder, but needs must when the devil drives ....

Warmed up here so I exercised 2 bikes today, haven't rode the EV in awhile so it's in the garage.

After a very pleasant 280 mile with my mate over Arthur's Pass to lake Brunner on the West coast it was time to do the fluids on the Breva.  Although the 2nd hand box I put in some 3-4 thousand miles ago was not due for a change i thought I would do it simply as a check.  The drive noise was always slightly louder than the original, along with 4th, but 5th is dead quiet.

Grey, iridescent oil came out. Sigh.

What is it with me and Breva gear boxes?  Has had the full complement of good quality oil; this just beggars belief.  It feels like  :boxing: :boxing: :boxing: :boxing:

I guess I will continue to ride it over the summer months and take it out AGAIN over winter and have a look-see.  Can't afford another one anyway.
