Tonti Tool Tray Rubber Strap Attachment?
« on: February 08, 2014, 03:58:56 PM »

How is this strap supposed to hold the tool tray within the Tonti frame? I assumed that the larger end (left) hooks to the front edge of the tray and the shorter end (right) connects to the wire bracket attached to the rear fender bolts. But that doesn't work very well. It slips off the front edge of the tray. Do I have it wrong? Can someone post a photo?

Thanks!

If I remember , big IF--     The left side of that strap gets slipped through the gas tank strap. That may not be right either cause I also remember one going to the batt tray in front of the rubber mat. That may be how I fixed the garbage that they designed, it rattles no matter what.

Dimples,

Yep, I'll send you a couple of pics to your AOL address since I don't have time to study up on posting pics here.

That's 1/2 of the battery holder downer. the tool tray is held by gravity
 only.

Mystery solved!

John sent these photos to me showing the battery strap passes through the tray strap metal end.

You're not the only one John.

Don't even use a battery strap, not sure it would fit my little Red Top anyway.
Just use polystyrene wedges to hold against side boxes, soft insulation.
