Actually, for what it *is* I think the styling is very good. Except for that plate on the side. WTH is that all about??

Heat shield. Looks like they went with true forward controls and the header is right there.

Aside from the wasp butt (hello Piaggio), for what it is it's pretty cool.  People would buy that.  *Americans* would buy that.

Me, too.  But I am excited that we're seeing some "test-the-limits" kind of thinking and design work from Moto Guzzi.

Rock on, Raquel!

Hey Kev M .

Its all good  :) we are just having a conversation ..... i am not upset or anything, and i know you are not picking a "fight buddy" .
It will be a boring world if everyone will always agree LOL

Going back to the topic " guzzi bagger " on second thought its not that bad....but i don't understand why they did not put a passenger seat and a set of hard bags ?
I think this bike may just be an "exercise" to get feedback and evaluate if it may have a future or not.

And yes, forward controls suck , i would just leave the peg same as the Audace model. but thats just my personal taste.

It's a styling exercise that takes the lines of the fuel tank and continues them back through the rear fender.

As a styling exercise, I like that point.

On the other hand, the fairing is horrible.

One of the things that makes HD successful is the endless customizing opportunities available.  If Guzzi could tap into some of that, then they would have something.

It looks like they are starting down the accessory road with the V7 lineup.

Long interview (in Italian) with Romano Albesiano (Aprilia Racing Manager) and Andrea Maria Benedetto (Piaggio Product Development Manager). The second, from 14:26, announces for Moto Guzzi an intermediate displacement engine, between the 750 and the 1200-1400, for 2015.

The MGX-21 is a showbike, but it anticipates a real new model that will be presented in 2015.

Love the new Eldo, and am impressed with the "bagged" concept.  They needed to be a little more forward thinking with the design, though.  As it stands, the DOT equipment they'll have to tack on the production version is gonna kill this look.  So will putting real bags and an appropriate passenger seat.  But I like the spirit of it!  Bravo!

I think you're right. It will give the V7II a bit more hp and provide an engine for a new V7 Scrambler and hopefully a mini Stelvio. That's most likely why MG repositioned the current engine in the new V7II frame, to make the new mid-size engine a drop-in.
I'd much rather ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Personally I like them both.

I think the street glide take might just draw in some folks from the HD side of things.. they have cash people.. MG is in the business of selling bikes.
My feelings on that is: as long as they don't push the whole line up in that direction that's fine with me.
Bring in the customers.. keep MG alive.

I like the new Eldo.

They had a cruiser V7 in the works but (thankfully?) that didn't make it to EICMA.

Are you sure it wasn't just a Nevada? They still make those for non-USA markets.

I'm guessing that the Nevada, like the Norge, just isn't new/exciting enough to show at EICMA.

I wonder how much the V7 addons will cost.

which version of the Cali has the big passenger backrest?  I couldn't tell if that one had the led taillights or the single trailer light.

Do you think we'll get a full-fairing version soon?

I can do without the whitewalls.

Hey, that's my turf!

What does it suppose to mean?  ::)

I'd imagine it means the modern Asian markets differ in taste drastically from the US market (and probably the Euro market) and they're challenged to try and cover both considering their small output.

I have to say I don't find any of the offerings particularly inspiring but I'm not a 'Cruiser' person and I do find things like the 'Scrambler' stomach churningly twee. I was really hoping we'd get at least a glimpse of a new 'Sports' bike but no such luck. Perhaps that's being held back till next year when the Griso gets retired? Who knows? It's going to be hard to put ABS on the Griso. There simply isn't anywhere for the pump!

I'm not a cruiser person either, yet. I'm 55 years old and feel I can still muscle around my 2012 Stelvio NTX for another 5-7 years even though I can barely reach the ground. I'm going to someday get to the point where I won't have the strength or desire to keep doing that. I currently do enjoy a more "sporting" ride every now and then and the Stelvio sure delivers when I want it to. I love the new Eldorado. I like the looks, ABS and modern technology it offers. I can see adding a new Eldorado in a year or two to have as my "last" bike.

No, that's the sad part about it. You'd think that the Nevada taught them a lesson.

Maybe it was a hot seller in Europe....
