The bike is in Sacramento. Being in Oregon, hard to swing by and have a look-see. Sales person was not helpful regarding some of the obvious modifications.

nice looking with that fairing but the price is about double what it should be.

I wonder how long the paint on the engine will last?

is it a Hydro motor?

I think that $8999. figure was the retail price new . Not sure why they would quote that number ???

02 is not a hydro, I'll sell you mine for 4k and that will leave you 5 to customize with.

Yep. Wonder why they would think that the MSRP on a 13 year old bike would have ANY relation to the market price today?

Maybe it's so when they quote a cash-on-the-barrelhead price of $3350, the buyer will be so shocked at "the deal" he'll pull out money right away?

The sales person I spoke with said that the bike was purchased initially by a custom builder who didn't want to do a Harley. Supposedly put $30k into it; ceramic and powder coatings, balanced and polished engine internals, etc. Got no response when I asked about the invalid VIN, even after prefixing with a "Z"; GUCDBKD02M154807.

Yeah ... yeah ... that's the ticket! I've done that myself; taken apart a stock garden-variety $5000 motorcycle and spent $30,000 completely disassembling it, polishing the insides of the cases, machining out the casting marks on each gear and polishing them by hand, did a high-temperature ceramic coating on the inside of the handlebars ....

I just want to get $15,000 back out of it, that's just HALF of what it would take to duplicate this work, deal of the century, mon ......

Interesting to see how long this bike goes unsold . What is KBB , maybe $3,500 ?

More like three times... :o

'02 was the solid lifter engine. '03-'04 was the hydro.

I'll throw in a plug for one good upgrade this Stone has: The second front brake. I did this to both my Stones and the stopping power improvement is wonderful.

I'd suggest $3000-$3500 is the fair price range.

Yes it sure seems way over priced. I noticed they sell Yamaha generators. They featured the 3000is as just arrived for a cool $2469.
Generator Depot sells it shipping included for $1650. Just $800 less for a small generator.

It'd be a great bike for Halloween!

It looks like there's been quite a bit of work done on the bike, e.g., upgraded brakes, farkles (mirrors, turn signals, switch gear, grips), lots of powder coating. I can't imagine it selling for $7k--I'd think in the $4k range, maybe as much as $5k, but you'd really have to like the color scheme.

For comparison, last August, this custom based on a 99 Jackal got to 5700.00 on Ebay...

I sold it for a few hundred dollars more to the high bidder.

Ya and that is why they left the description empty on the web page. Cause it has $30K worth of mods and ONLY asking $7K. ::)
