The internet is such a funny place.  I'm not sure whether it's the anonymity of it that spawns such heated exchanges occasionally, or the limited communicative aspect of it - where two guys in person saying the very same thing to each other might not get heated at all.  I'm not saying I never get worked up anymore, I still do occasionally, but I've mostly come to just look at it all with an air of amusement/bemusement.  I personally think Dusty usually has a great take on these things.  You've got to keep a sense of humor about it - or at least for me. Even still, some things can just sting you and you remember them in way you never really should - there are a lot more "real" insults in life you should in fact better recall.  For example, even though it's literally been six or seven years ago, I still recall when a then regular (no longer on here) and "revered" guy on the board - who had been in no less than 3 accidents himself in like 3 years - basically called me a liar when I was explaining how I had avoided a close wreck with another vehicle, effectively calling b.s. on what I had said.  I laugh now when I think how upset that made me.  I think I quit the board even - something I used to do now and again but thankfully haven't in many years.  In fact, my experiences here these last many years have been rosy compared to the hurl of gunfire and personal insults I experience on the Triumph board almost daily, merely for putting a windshield on a Street Triple. :)

Don't worry about it. It's just a motorcycle. But then, some people might get worked up if you disparage their toaster or laser printer. It's the internet, after all.

And whatever you do.... do not start taking about PCs vs Macs. Now that is a place of flame wars indeed.  :D

I see that Motorcycle USA didn't have many kind words for the V7 in their "Scrambler" comparison. Hopefully the California 1400 Touring will do better in their upcoming "Sport Bike" shootout.

Yeah, I think that 1 guy has never ridden a bike w/o a multi plate clutch before he repeatedly complained about the Guzzi clutch so much.  ::)  But let's be real, that model they rode is not a scrambler.  It looked like a standard to me.  :D

My perspective, FWIW - You were just venting your frustration / unhappiness.  And, you picked the perfect place to do that, among like minded nut jobs  ;D (I mean enthusiasts).  It's not that you don't love your weird, Italian tractor (we all do), but most everyone here knows how quirkey (sp?) our respective machines can be.  Just getting it out in the open has seemed to change your perspective for the better.  No need to apologize.
