Bolt On Paintjob
« on: March 03, 2015, 10:27:40 PM »
Some of you may remember on a trip to Idaho I bit the dust on a gravel road busting the screen and crumpling up the fender on my EV

Did I mention I broke the clutch lever, one good thing that came out of that, we diverted to John Day riding clutchless to pick up a lever at the
Polaris dealership. We met Byron and his wife the owners, they took pity on us and put us up for the night out on their farm, great folks.

I picked up a plastic sign at the local ACE hardware to keep some of the wind off. It didn't work, not one offer.

I looked into repainting the fender, it was going to be quite a task given the complex paint scheme.

A few months back I helped a guy with some electrical problems, he told me he was reconfiguring his EV with carbs and a complete new look so I enquired what he was going to do with the front fender. It turns out he was doing away with all the painted bits so I scooped them up.

Last week I stripped the old girl down and bolted the new to me bits on.

BTW, the cherry trees are flowering in Vancouver ;D

What do you think. The ladies in the complex think it's pretty, is that a good thing  ???

Purdy.
Then again, when I was watching Predator I didn't think two members of its cast would become governors, either. So you never know.

It depends on how good those ladies look, since they're coming on to you. (not joking)

Excellent!

But is that an EV rear fender?  I thought they were the fat ones that sit outside the rails.   ???

Yes, exactly the same as the one it came with. Of course it came with a huge lump of chrome bag support and pillion, I prefer it naked.
I built a rack to hold my camping gear you can see in the first couple of pics.

Sorry the black part was also broken so I tossed it, It was an ugly looking thing but worked well I must say.
Oh, you were jesting :)

Makes me want to move back to Vancouver, where I belong.  Roy, you're killin' me!

I have to say, though, that insurance costs (ICBC) would likely mean that I would have to reduce my stable to one (or maybe two) bikes.  Probably still worth it!

Cheers,
Shaun
