The toes on my right foot are screwed up (Hammer toes), thus I need boots with a deep toe box.  That really limits me as most motorcycle boots have a small toe box so you can get under the shifter easily.

I have a Cal II with the heel-toe shifter.  I've been riding lately (since my toes decided to do their own thing) in tennis shoes. Don't like that.  I'm a once-upon-a- time MSF instructor.
I can mitigate my stupidity be telling you I have a sidecar outfit.  We don't fall over a lot.

Looking for comments from anyone who knows about a m/c boot with deeper toe box.  Figured I could find out here since you guys know everything.

I had a painful hammer toe problem but I cured it.
Now my left foot has two and a half toes but no hammer toe pain
and I can wear a normal shoe or boot.

These have a lot of toe room and they're made for foot problems.

Thanks for the tips.  Anybody else?

I have actually thought of cutting them off; was glad to hear from someone who did.  I had the same problem with my left foot so went for salvation surgery three years ago and my foot has hurt ever since.

Yeah they worked on mine and just made them worse.  I decided that if they weren't there they wouldn't hurt any more.  It hurt like hell during recovery
But I have never regretted having them off.  The doc said "If I take them off you will walk funny."
I answered, " But at least I will walk."
It didn't change my walking enough to be noticeable once the healing was complete.

As I've aged, I've noticed that where I used to be able to wear most boots without any problem, now I'm a lot more sensitive to fit. I've been wearing Thorogood Deuce side zip boots, or similar side zip boots for a while. I've had my eye on those Corcoran jump boots (they make a side zip variant). The thing that's been holding me back is that there's no dealer nearby and I won't buy any more boots that I can't try on first. I've given away too many pairs of boots over the years that I bought online, then found they didn't fit.
Another boot that has caught my eye is the Chippewa Rally Boot. I found a dealer not too far away, so I'm going to go over there one of these days and have them measure my foot and try a pair on. If they fit well enough, I'll buy a pair.

I have a hammer toe on the left foot and a surgically repaired toe on the right.  Also, I wear orthodic insoles.  I've been breaking in a second pair of Aeromoto boots and they work for me.   Good boot, very good price.

By breaking in I mean Lexol - wear / Lexol -wear / Lexol wear.

As far as other shoes go Merrell seem to have consistently larger toe boxes.

I can recommend Keen shoes in the "other shoe" category, they have a nice large toe box and are generally well made. At least one style is Hecho en Portland Oregon.
