I NEED A BIKE COVER
« on: March 18, 2015, 04:39:44 PM »
I don't know how long I'm going to keep my Stelvio NTX outside. But when I do, I'd like to give it a fighting chance against the elements.  One problem is figuring the size because of the 58 liter GIVI tail trunk.  (I think a Goldwing size may have to do.)  The other consideration is quality of materials and construction.  What do you recommend?

I use a Nelson-Rigg Deluxe cover over the Stelvio. On top of that I also use a plastic tarp to keep the sun off the Nelson-Rigg cover. The sun will beat up the Nelson-Rigg cover in one summers use.

I'd much rather ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.

I've used an E-Z Touring Cover on my bikes (actually the same one) for about 15 years.  It has been modified by my wife as I changed bikes but it still does a good job.  They were in Bend, OR when I bought it but they may have moved since then.  Check out their website (www.EZTouring.com) and ask them what they recommend for your bike and needs.

Essential to the pursuit of happiness is knowing when you've caught it.
Life's what happens while you're making other plans.
I always knew I'd get old.  How fast it happened was a bit of a surprise, though.

:+1 on dowco.  Good stuff.  Heavy enough to stay on the bike in the wind, light enough to throw over the bike.  The fit is good, it has a liner at the hard contact points (windshield, etc), and it keeps a bike dry.

I have a dowco for the home front and carry cheeep internet covers if I want one along for the ride.
