Apparently your gf didn't know what to expect from Dani?

Ha!  You've got me, there.

Sure, Danni's reputation precedes him, but following the warm reception my gf got from Marc Marquez, the fact that she got the cold shoulder from Danni because Ninji had already been signed by Marquez... well, that shocked even me.

I like Nick but he is done. Honda will not allow their "A" riders to be eclipsed by the satellite teams. I wish Rossi could garner one more championship. Lorenzo is hungry and always a threat. I'm still not 100% in Marc's corner. Probably because I despise effing Honda. I'm betting on Dovi and Ducati with Ianonne running interference.

So... did you hate Rossi or Nicky when they were Honda riders  :o :D

I need to double check my DVR to make sure it is ready to rumble.  It is vastly amusing to me that MotoGP is on the week that F1 isn't and how inconceivably better the racing is in MotoGP.  Why do I watch (actually FF most of the race) F1 when the motorcycles are such a better show?  Anyways I like Marc and Rossi but feel like a bandwagoneer since I only recently started watching MotoGP so don't have a deep history with the current riders.

Back in the 80's I attended Laguna Seca a few times and saw Roberts, Spencer, Rainey, Lawson and Schwantz ride the 500cc two strokes. I was a Spencer fan back in those days but Rainey had Laguna dialed in and seemed to win there the most.  Fondest memory is sitting at the corkscrew and watching Roberts wheelie down that hill, just amazing to me at the time (I'm sure they all do it now).

I thought Stoner might make a return but I guess if it isn't now, it won't happen.

I was not 100% in their corner either while at Honda. I don't recall typing "hate".

I admit I did not address the question correctly. I have always liked the folks mentioned for their ability and courage. I just did and do not care for anything Honda and consequently, was/am not wishing for a win, place or show. Any of the riders are welcome at my table.

Cheers

Yes , but ... Honda and Yamaha have a strong rivalry on the track and the street . Both have invested boatloads of money since the 1960s to beat each other in both venues . Phil Read , when he was riding for Yamaha the first time , told a funny story re the rivalry . When Honda introduced the 6 cylinder 250 GP bike , Yamaha added a pair of fake expansion chambers to their twin cylinder 250 to make Honda think that Yamaha had developed a 4 cylinder 2 stroke 250  :D It is gonna be tough for the smaller manufacturers to match the R&D capabilities of Hon and Yam . Boatloads of money always overwhelms canoes full of money .

But Dusty, VW bought Ducati.   I'd say they have some deep pockets.

Nothing boring about todays MotoGP race.  Rossi performs another miracle.     Marquez got his bubble popped.  8)  Ducatis ARE for real now.  :)

what a fantastic race.  Rossi was sooooo methodical.  Like a surgeon, now I know why he IS "The Doctor".

The Ducatis need to be on factory bike rules now.  They're too fast to be given an advantage.  I didn't see the Duc air spliters on the front fender that was mentioned.  Best I've ever seen Dovi ride.  I wish Nickey was on a Duc.

I am stoked to go to COTA now.  Can't wait.

Better put a spoiler on the title.

Rossi picked harder tires than his competitors........ ..waited 'till the end when their tires were toast and attacked to win at the end when his tires were still good.   ;-T    The older/more experienced guy knows when to make his final move.

Ducatis' winglets are on the fairing.

Well, one more performance like that and Ducati lose the extra soft tire, but I think they are in it for real on a track like this, and I think COTA will favor them.

Still, Marquez got pretty close for having to come back all the way...

That was [I have no words]! I read Ducati tested the soft rear briefly in FP2 and decided not to use it. They already get by with the lower fuel limit.

Rossi [I have no words]! You need to keep an eye on those old guys.

No crashes? These folks are good. Every one of them.

Yes, Rossi knew that when qualifying is bunched up, folks will burn up their tires jamming each other.

Rossi was only 1.8 seconds in front of Marquez after lap 4, so Marquez had his chance. MM should have been sanctioned for biffing Bautista...

Don't forget, because Ducati gets more fuel, they can run their bike richermaking more power, and making on-off throttle transitions softer increasing tire life...

Ducati have been running 22 liters, not so much more. Maybe the harder tire would have helped Dovi at the end? I don't know.

I do doubt Dani is done. At least not until after Texas.
Hey, Stoner's doing Suzuka, maybe he'll do a Bayliss and come back for a few rounds.

Prtobably , still having a hard time doing so . Several of us were having a race watch party when that happened , I am the only one who doesn't believe Pedrosa should have been banned from GP racing .

PEDROSA RETIRES DUE TO INCURABLE ARM PUMP !!!!!!!

http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2015/03/30/pedrosa-a-doubt-for-the-next-race/172946

Dani Pedrosa has revealed he has been battling arm-pump over the last year and will take time out to seek medical advice on the issue.
Repsol Honda’s Pedrosa, who finished the Commercial Bank Grand Prix of Qatar in 6th position, revealed he has been suffering from severe arm-pump for the last year. The condition has become that bad, that he has announced he will take some time off to seek medical advice on the best way to proceed. This has put the Spanish riders participation in the 2nd round of the MotoGP™ World Championship in doubt, as the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas takes place in just two weeks on 12 April.

I don't suppose Honda would Nickey on the bike for Texas?
