Relay question
« on: March 21, 2015, 08:59:30 AM »
Does any one know of a diagram showing what relays are located in which position for different model bikes.  Am trying to label the ones in an 03 EV and can't find a diagram (or picture).

I did one of a 98 EV, it may be similar.
This is the relays under the RH side cover, it shows how they connect to the rest of the wiring

The 98 uses the 8P ECU.
The 03 uses the 15M ECU.
Fairly different.

I realize it's a later ECU but are the relays different?
I haven't seen under the hood of  the 03
Perhaps someone can take a photo.

I've seen differences from one 1998 to another 1998. I would never attempt to label them for that and other reasons.

This might help you figure things out:

The numbers across the top are the relay terminals.
The two letter abbreviations are the wire color: BK = Black, BL = Blue, GY = Gray, YL = Yellow, RD = Red, GN = Green and WH = White
The area to the right of the wire colors indicates what that terminal connects to: CN = multi-pin connector

I have found differences in the wiring between "early" production and "late" production on 2003 schematics.  That was the reason for the question.  The color codes for the wiring on my 03 does not agree with the schematic and the actual wiring is closer to the 02 schematic that I have.  However neither schematic agrees completely with what is on the bike.  Thought if there was a picture somewhere it would save some time tracing everything out.  Oh well! ???
