New Moto Guzzi Door Mats Available Now
Thanks for your kind consideration. As with all wax-motor actuators, ours is set to a prescribed temperature range. It is not adjustable but it monitors itself over a temperature range. It begins to stroke toward closed as the wax inside the actuator expands and it is fully stroked and the by-pass is closed at the top of that range. The wax prescription range in this actuator is optimal for engine oil cooling (180 begin - 200 fully stroked). It is no more difficult to change your oil with our 4050 by-pass installed than without it. During oil change you should not bother the 4050.
Wouldn't a cover for the oil cooler during winter months be the Guzzi way? It's cheap, easy, and doesn't alter the bike.
Also gotta remember Spuddy lives somewhere you can depart in 85 degree sun and see 40 degrees & snow flurries during the course of a ride
SO, when are you gunna get here Mayor?Spuddy
I made it as a Helena resident for aprox 6weeks! (Yes I know this is insane behavior)
Hey, we're all insane or 'ranch' out here. Just send me BBQ - nothing good here. Eating in Montana: mediocre food and too much of it...Spuddy
I've already gone that route Mike mad it works well enough but it requires monitoring and adjusting. A 'stat is essentially 'Fit and Forget'.Pete
Bob, when the 'Stats arrive and I have some time, (It's coming up to my quiet time of year so it shouldn't be far away.) I'll work out the where and the how and what to buy to get it to fit.I'm thinking that probably I'll be able to fit the stat inside the cooler housing and mount it to the sump spacer by drilling and tapping a couple of holes in the spacer. The spacer is 20-25mm thick so 10mm bolts won't be a problem. The it's simply a matter of working out hose lengths and the fittings needed to plumb it all in unobtrusively and effectively. I think the biggest issue will be accomodating the tight bends needed behind the cooler to plumb the hoses up.I would probably offer a kit but every time I do something like this and offer a kit I'm told it is too expensive because parts are based on Australian prices and then there is postage on top. It also seems that I'm expected to do all of the assembley and acquisition for nothing. Look what happens to my CARC breather idea as an example. What I will do is list all of the stuff I use and do a photo-essay of assembly and install. Then if people are interested they can build and fit their own.Pete
