As the title mentions, it is Guzzi related (GC=Guzzi Content). Big block to be more specific. It is a newly created piece that I designed and manufactured. It's derived from other items made for the same purpose.

A few of our members probably need one or will soon. I'm looking to give a few away.

You might say the bolt holds the plastic piece, and the plastic piece holds something else - however temporarily. If fact if you need one of these, it's only useful for about 5 minutes.

Think about that tapped hole in the aft end of the crankshaft. ;-T The little didgie on the end of one of the 3 thingies could go into an appropriately located notch.

My guess too. ??? But why would you have the alignment nib on the end of a tang rather than centered where it couldn't flex?

Or a throttle lock?

Narrow toilet paper dispenser for those long rides?

Sorry for the untimely delay. As it happens, I just got threatened with an Adware attack.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner. Thank you for ending it T. I hope it was amusing, and not annoying. I dreamt this up as I needed one, and I thought the others available were pretty expensive since I would only need it for a few minutes, and likely once ever. I figured others would also like a more economical alternative for a mostly underused tool (in most garages)

I went through about 5 different basic forms for the design, and about 16 different iterations to get to this one. I tested them all and they all worked to some degree. It is designed to be spring into the ID of the clutch discs with no play and maintain a static tension to hold them in alignment. The center hole is tightly toleranced to fit the bolt. The plastic piece is a printed part. It is optimized the printing process. I doubt a clutch centering tool can be produced for less in the limited numbers that the market will bear.

Here, the spring tension is suspending the weight of the clutch pack. I recommend pre-assembling the clutches and intermediate plate before placing into the flywheel.

Here with the clutch pack compressed and ready to mount the ring gear.

Good question Tobit. The reason is that I want the nub to be sprung into the groove to eliminate any slop between the nub and the groove. If it is placed at the rigid part, clearance has to be designed in.

As I hinted above, I want to give a few of these out to board members to get some feedback. All I ask is that you need one in the short term so I can get your feedback.

Understand the point, er, nub. I need to replace my clutch and hub with deep spline units but probably won't get to it for a few months. When you're ready to sell, consider me on your list.

I should add, this is for 4mm splines. It may well work for 2mm, but I have no way of testing for that, and question if its worth bothering with.
