These guys are obviously on the other side of the tracks when it comes to biker brotherhood.  It's a good lesson for the whole lot of them if they take it in... doubtful.

Just got back from town, picking up some gas for the lawnmower.

In the gas station was a group of about 20 "bikers", all riding Harleys with cut-down batwing fairings, ALL wearing face masks with some kind of scary graphics, NONE of whom had any mufflers, ALL of them sitting there wanking on their throttles making the maximum possible noise, and ALL of them, if they saw you looking at them, with a bad "What do YOU want damn you?" look on their face.

Sometimes it's hard being on two wheels if only because other people will associate you with these penile-challenged compensators.

I know, I know.  Someone's going to say "So do you only like other riders with Tourmaster jackets on Stelvios ... ?" or something.   No, of course not.   Half the fun of riding is meeting up and talking with and/or riding with like-minded people.   But I don't find much like-mindedness in Stunter Boyz or Hell's Angels Wannabees ..... It's a shame too.

You would enjoy the classic South Park episode "The F Word," which is exactly about the people you describe. Unfortunately it's only available via Hulu Plus these days.

What I found amusing was the dude with the GoPro kept twirling his throttle continuously even when he was slowing down!

We have a young biker at our workplace and his supervisor calls him "Twirly" because he even revs up the electric drill when using it. He just can't help it!!

I feel the same way.

I wonder, what is the Portuguese word for asshat?  Something tells me Google may have steered me wrong, and that it's not chapĂ©u de burro.   ;D

I'm glad there weren't all these "dash cams" when I was a young guy and did stunts...

Hmmm... There is that.

An example: someone passes you recklessly, then you find he's been pulled over by a cop a few miles ahead.

I'm not sure that's true, or if it is, in what sense it's true.   I've bought a bunch of motorcycles over the years, some new, a couple new cars, and I've never used credit to buy any of them?

I just use money (the cash kind) from my paycheck and my savings.   I don't borrow it and pay interest on it, which to me is how you know it's "Credit" .... ?

I'm the same way, I've already had my apocalyptic moment when I realized that if everyone was like me the system would shrivel & die when all along I thought I was a model for fiscal responsibility - today its your turn.  ~; :P

Getting off topic here but remember: When we don't spend money we don't have, it's called "common sense." When governments don't spend money they don't have, it's called "austerity," and everyone freaks out.

Full disclosure: I'm in debt up to my eyeballs. Because America.

Not to get overly political here, but "spending money you don't have" has it's healthy uses:  borrowing to put yourself through college, for example.  Even those of us who practice the best fiscal restraint usually borrow to buy a house (it's called a mortgage loan).  It's not always bad even for governments to spend money they don't have, it depends on what it's spent for, and that, of course is where politics comes in.

As for buying motorcycles with a credit card, I've done it with a cash-back card and gotten a nice bundle of cash back.  Of course, I never carry a balance on any credit card, that's foolish indeed.

Gee, was thinking about riding over to Cedar Vale with a like minded group.  But if I would be looked down upon for riding standing on the seat, I may have to go it alone.  The seat is such a pain in the ass I don't think I could make it sitting all the way.

We all have that problem from time to time.
