JFK monument on US-259 in Oklahoma - for Dusty, Jay, & John
« on: April 20, 2015, 11:00:25 AM »
For Dusty, Jay, John, and whoever else was in the conversation on Saturday Night in Cedar Vale  about JFK dedicating US-259 in Oklahoma.

Here is the monument at the intersection of US-259 and OK-63.  I was wrong about the date, it was October '61, not '63.

It's hidden in the Junipers and overgrown landscaping:

"Ask not what your Country can do for you.  Ask what you can do for your Country".

"Dedication of Highway 259.  October 29, 1961".

"Presented as a memorial to an illustrious and dedicated American by the Knights of Columbus and The People of The State of Oklahoma"

You were too busy "tuning" your hotrod Beemer on the other side of the road.

Group photo sounds like a great idea for a stop-off on a lunch ride from the Oklahoma Campout NAR.
