Foster Bike

A friend has asked me to 'buy' ie. foster house his 72 Eldorado for him for one year while he sorts out some personal affairs. He may buy it back next year or perhaps it will just be stabled with the other Guzzi's I have under my care.
It has been mechanically rebuilt with iron cylinders, new pistons and the whole drive line has been gone through. This bike has Amal carbs and 4LS front brake, a nice combination I think and the back rest is cool in a gorpy sort of fashion.
Weird headlight
Hate the mirrors
I so want to repaint it! but I have to leave it alone....... :-\

The very best thing you can do for that bike, whether it's for you if you keep it, or your friend if he gets his affairs sorted out and buys it back, AND for the bike ....
Is to Ride It! Ride it enough to have to change the oil every three months or so to keep things fresh (no filter on that), and to prevent cobwebs and spiders and rust and ethanol-residue and all that stuff!

If you do nothing else, change those mirrors!

And the horns as well, it takes so little to make a great bike look like crap ???
