Valve stem size.

Hello All:

  So this weekend, maybe next, I will be changing the rear tire ( Shinko 009 ) on my 06 B-1100. 
  Does anyone know what size the valve stem is ? 

  8mm or 10 mm.

  I want to change out the valve stem since I have a slow leak there.

I just replaced one on a customer's Norge, but can't remember for sure. I do know it's the same one that Ducati uses on a bunch of their bikes - any with Brembo wheels.

From this photo, I'd say 8 mm. I do remember using a 13 mm socket to tighten the nut, so that points to 8 mm as well.

It's ~8mm.  Depends on where I measure it.

Valve stems are not expensive, but the leak is probably the o-ring, which is even cheaper.

It's rare to change metal valve stems.  Usually any leak (also unusual) is repaired by changing the valve stem or sealing o-ring.

The one I had to replace was due to someone somehow stripping the internal threads, so the valve core wouldn't come out. The valve body does seems to be a very soft alloy, but how do you do that?

8mm. I just replaced the o-ring on a leaker.
