Lower bars for Stelvio NTX ??
« on: May 25, 2015, 12:39:54 PM »
It appears from posts I've read most people are either happy with the stock handle bars or want risers. Being the odd-ball that I am I'd like to lower my bars and if possible move them forward just a little. I prefer a little forward lean to redistribute some of the load off my lower back. I could mill down the risers a little but I'd prefer to find a lower bar if I can.

Has anyone here done this or have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Steve

make a pair of new mountings? Stock are bent towards you. make it straight and shorther.

Thanks Paul,
That is what I intend to do if I don't hear of a suitable bar.

Steve,
I have a narrower and slightly lower bar set up on the '09 Stelvio, oddly enough there are Rox Risers on it too... come on down and try it out if you like.

Possibly a low, flat bar with Rox Risers and just move them forward.. No...?

Best,
Rob

I had Griso 8V bars on my 2011 Stelvio, they're a little lower and narrower than the stock bar. They also have the same taper as the stock bar and fit very nice, but I did have to drill new holes for the switch locating pins.

The standard 'fat bars' of any type will work, but you will find QUICKLY that the standard Stelvio bars are W-I-D-E. Wider than any aftermarket bar I could find.

What you end up with is just about any that are shorter, but also narrow. Not a bad thing, but be careful when trying to clear items at full lock. Possible, but it pays to measure everything out first.
